It's always good to do a search first, rather than depend on members for all of this information. TPU search and Google are your friends. What I believe from what I've experienced/seen, anything but a 920 CO or DO is a waste of money, considering that all but the worst chips will do 4.0ghz on reasonable voltage. Some of the good DO's will also do 4.3+ without breaking a sweat. A couple of important bits of info. i7's run very hot. As soon as you buy one, throw away the stock heatsink as it's worthless. Second, you cannot rely on batch numbers to find a good chip like you could with C2D/C2Q. It's really a roll of the dice. Some DO's seem to clock higher on lower voltages than CO chips, but this is not always the case. There's the quick and dirty on i7, IMHO.

first of all: Ive done plenty of research, its my first computer... Im 17 FCOL...
So I know all stuf about the heatsink and temps. If you could read a little bit closer all the words like availlable, cancelled and release date indicate that I dont need any technical advice but more about store dates. I hold this forum in high regards because youre very accurate and I dont thrust every site that screams a date. So place dont start me about the USE GOOGLE.
Nothing personal but dont act like that if youre on the wrong page of the subject

As soon as you buy one, throw away the stock heatsink, as it's worthless.

I'd also suggest getting a replacement because not having a heatsink on the i7 isn't going to help the heat problem :D
I would recommend a good Xigmatek or Thermalright TRUE or even the CM V8. Very good performance. And as Paulieg said, pretty much everything but the 920 is a waste of money... :p

Oh and next time you could just specify that you've already done some research and would like to confirm the info then no one will mistake your post for the 1000's of other guys who're just too lazy to check :p

Well, you may have been a little more clear on what you were asking for. "Up to speed" is NOT specific. When I see a fairly new member ask a fairly vague question, the "do a search" will always be my first reply. Anyway, welcome to TPU.

Yeah, welcome! V8 actually has very decent performance for a little bit less than the TRUE and the V10 is just a bit huge yes (and has peltier too if I'm not mistaken). Although I'm getting a RT1366 TRUE :rockout:
