They call that thin? Psh.... Looks nice though, but I really wonder how strong that can be at that thickness.

I love Mac's, take a PC, tack on an apple and Mac, and a stylish case that will make people feel they are better than you for owning one, then add $1,000 - $2,000 and your set. I'm going to college for graphic design and thats all I get to hear is how awesome macs are and how shitty comps are, when they people know nothing, felt good to ruin their day and tell them they are running Intel processors and Mac went to PC internals in 2005, so they are just paying for OS X. And felt real good once I got to show off my comp, watercooling blew their minds

Name me a laptop that is as thin and powerful as a MacBook Pro and isn't made of crappy plastic.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but they don't all suck.

I used to have a MBP but mine was one of the first models with issues, the new ones are great.

EDIT.

This Via laptop is cool but OMG at the ugly color.

Thats Lamborgini yellow:rockout:

Ive seen some other laptops made with via and they seem nice if they were priced under 500 id get one but i it was over 500 id just get the hp with the athlon neo...

The real question is, how much horsepower can that S3 Chrome 435 ULP graphics processor give? Can it run Crysis? :D

nope, ive actually owned a 440GTX, jejeje it on par with the 2400xt it uses very little power, still a lot better tha intel graphics

athlon neo?

Otherwise, this looks pretty sweet, its nice to have an offering from some one other than the major players.

Despite the VIA Nano being a better performing processor, I've yet to see many netbooks (or even notebooks) featuring Nano. I noticed the Samsung NC20, but that seems to be about it. Does anyone else know of any?

should work now http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834147984  well i think it had another name but a i really dont recall...

ever heard intel anti competitive ways, jejeje, well i think it's just intel is so big and famous it could sell thin cans as a cpu and uninformed buyer would still buy them over anything else, just cause the "intel inside" not that there other products are bad i love Core2 & i7 but Atom is by far the worst and most overpriced cpu in there lineup.

I don't really look much into laptops, and if I had one it would be a portable desktop, something like an 18.4" behemoth :p Not saying Mac don't make some good things, but it seems they try to sell a life style more than a notebook with the exterior styling they use.

Looks pretty nice.

I had considered getting the NC20 with the Via nano, but went with the HP DV2 with AMD's Neo instead. Awesome little machine.

Athlon Neo is more of a competitor to Intel Core 2 Duo CULV, as it turns out. Haven't heard of anything with Athlon Neo at sub-$400 price point.

Ok, that makes sense, and was along the lines of what i was thinking.

you should stay away from this if your using beyond surfing!

i am writing on an HP Mininote 2133 which has a S3 GPU Unichrome Pro HC blublblub AND guess what? It's slow because of the poorest drivers i've ever seen

VIA S3 GPU drivers are a pain even if the Hardware is capable their support is BAD!!!
I have 3+ PC all with IGP made by S3 and none of them is good or usuable.
They get HOT!
They're slow (intel GMA is fast compared to them)
and drivers? i don't want to say anything to that or i get banned :banghead:
