Ok, as almost no one answered to my other thread :)mad:), its time to make a new one with more choices.

After some thinkin, i get to the point that a mobo may not be but may be the best choice.

So my choices are

- Antec BP500 (Basiq) - Pretty decent psu (externally crap, internally excellent) as my kinda generic psu, well, dont think it will allow me much other upgrades.

- Coolermaster Extreme 500 - Another decent psu but with less amps on the 12v rail (32 on this vs 36 on the antec) in exchange for a black exterior and a bottom located fan.

- MSI P43 Neo - After reading a review and asking to another fellow member (thanks r9) it turns to be a pretty good mobo for oc on a tight budget (like mine).

- Gigabyte EP43-ES3G - Same here, after a review it turns to be another pretty good mobo but is more expensive than the MSI. Still is a choice.

-TT Ruby Orb - A good cooler for the price i get it here and its damn sexy. Also it will allow me to oc more :)

PLEASE POST YOUR COMMENTS, DONT LET THE THREAD DIE.

I'd go for the MSI board since it's a good oc'er and cheaper than the gigabyte.

Please buy a new, better PSU before you go upgrading any motherboards. If you buy a new board and that OEM unit goes pop, so does your new spangly mobo, harddrive(s), ram, etc etc . . .

A more reliable powersupply should be done first, irrespective of your other components. Buy a better PSU then save some pennies and go from there - use your PSU as a frame to build on.

If the PSU goes and take the mobo out then RMA them both. I'd take a new mobo over PSU anyday assuming the PSU works properly. Although I can't stress how important a good psu is in the first place.

those psu are the best i can get and that antec isnt bad, just a bit low of wattage. even if i save just a bit more, i may have both, the psu and the cooler. Yeah, unless anyone is against that, then i will be on that way.

i suggest corsair or pc power & cooling psu, for the money you wont find much better. i have the corsair 750tx single rail 60a for 120 on newegg. Don't know what your budget is but gigabyte ud3r is a bad ass board for about 115. I've had 2 or 3 of them boards they overclock very well, the one im running now has my 9650 at 4.4 prime stable.

Look at the location first my friend My location is uruguay, latin america and prices are like this

Corsair 550vx: 150 USD

UD3R: about 220 USD

My budget is about 100 so thats why those are my choices

im sorry man, honestly never looked at that. well for your psu try to stay single rail with the most amps on the rail, and this is about the least expensive board ive owned, but performs or even outperforms the asus rampage i used to have with my 8400.

no problem, no one looks at the location.

my choices are the one up in 1 post. both of these psu have 2 rails which is not that bad considering i would never go with more than one video card.

im asking your opinion of choices above

ok at first glance i would go with antec, if i remember properly antec earthwatts are pretty badass and antec i forget off the top of my head but are made by a halfway decent company. Also it shows 18a per rail on the antec while the other shows 16 per rail. Now i have never had either, but if i were to choose for my own id go antec. Other than that, what i would do if i was going to buy either search google with the psu model numbers followed by reviews, like "Antec BP 500 review", and read up on what one is better, i hoped i helped thats about all i can say about 2 psu's ive never used before.

A newegg review on the antec says that it can handle a 4870 and a pII 940. If it can handle that, then it would handle for the next 4 years

Ok, the antec is it, and maybe in a month or so i may get the ruby orb, then wait till the mobo prices come down further due to core i5 and get the mobo and have all. i have no problem in playing in low res and low quality, my whole life i played that way.

The antec looks good, I was actually considering it. A lot of people here a big fans of Corsair, and I would recommend it too if it was in the budget. Otherwise Antec, Cooler Master, Corsair, OCZ, and pc power & cooling, are all good PSU brands.
