Hello Friends ...

I use Altec Lansing AVS300B from last 2 years but now i want to change it ..

I sort out some speakers but dont know which one is better :-
1.Edifier C3
2.Altec Lnasing VS4121
3.Logitech X230

Use for :-
1.Gaming
2.Music
3.Movies

Is sound card needed for these speakers ???

Pls help me to decide.I spend more than 2 weeks to sort out speakers ...

I've used my X-230's for years w/o issue, get em cheap refurb'd back in late 2006, they have been solid ever since. Like anything they don't need an add in sound card, as they're amplified via amp in the sub housing, but better sound quality from an add-in sound card is noticable, at least to me it was. Not the end of the world as I ran onboard for well over a year on just onboard audio w/no complaints. Now-a-days I primarily listen to headphones though, I found ones that treat me well and a good sound card to drive them, I get the sound how I want and louder than I can drive my speakers w/o getting complaints.

I don't know about the AL's or Edifier's, but I do know I have really enjoyed my X-230's, bought my ex a set of more expensive creative 2.1's, that were absolute garbage in comparison.

:toast:

I'd go with the Logitech

Logitech speakers are solid and sound great for music, movies, and games...

How is Altec Lansing VS4121 ???

Any one know about Edifier C3 ???

Altec Lansing make good stuff. I still say go with the Logitech X-230. I have them and they are awesome. I have personally never hear of Edifier before this post.

ya the x230 are a great 2.1 Set (2 Speakers, 1 Sub) You can thank Labtec for where Logitech is today with Sound Products.

+1 fpr the logitech, I've been using a set of Z4's for years

Logitech's are overrated and generally crappy. But they do have great bass. But thats pretty much it. Edifier C3 looks solid (but i never heard them) and from my personal experience i'd go with Altec Lansing. Plus the model of AL you're looking at has slightly more powerful bass than it's common for other models. At least got that feeling of overwhelming bass when i was testing them. It can be fine-tuned and then they sound great.

I heard Logitech X-210.I dont like it therefore no Logitech ...

I heard Edifier C3 at my friend's house and it sounds great better than AL VS4121 ...

So i go with Edifier C3 ...

Thanx guys for help me ....

I have one problem pls help to solve ....

Whenever i connect my AL AVS300B speakers to pc and play music it distort but when i connect it to my Mobile W700i and play music it not distort ...

Why ???

Is their problem in my Onboard Sound ???

I have agree that generally speaking Logitech doesn't make the best speakers; however, there are some exceptions. The X-230 are one. The X-210 is crap compared to the X-230 so that comparison is not a good parallel.

Anyway, glad you made a choice.

ok im gonna say this, On-board sound no matter what still doesn't compare to the CL, HT-Omega, Auzentech and Blue Gears Sound boards, when you Mix with a good set of speakers the sound is actually outstanding. Also to bash logitech for 1 set of speakers doesn't do justice on judging whats good and whats bad. Ive had the Logitech X230 Speaker set for 3 years and its Outstanding for a 2.1 Set.

How is Creative audigy ???

Is it good for Edifier C3 ???

Is it work on Windows 7 ???

Oh, I love both sets of VS4121's that I have (1 @ home and 1 @ Work). I just picked up my last set for $24.00 @ the Xoxide.com selloff. I have extreme confidence in Altec Lansing. After all, they have JBL in their lineage.

210 and 230 are completely different speakers.

X230, 530 and 540 are great speakers sets, as well as their famous Z-5500 and other high end sets.

I love my X-530's I use them as 2.1 when I bring them with my MP3 player into work at grocery store and you have no issue hearing it across the entire grocery store, very happy with the money I spent on them.

How is Auzentech Xplosion sound card ???

Is it work on Windows 7 ???
