Grinding Noise

I have a good computer that run fine but sometimes after a while it begin to make a grinding noise intermittent. Could it be my Hard drive or more my power supply? look at my system specs under my avatar and youll see.

it would be a fan most likely, possibly a HDD rattling.

you'll have to determine the source yourself, by looking and listening

id lke to try it but my pc is in the cabinet so i cant put my head there or ill have to unplug everything but that would be a mess. Not an hdd rattling...more like a washing mashing with worn out bushings
Do the HDD spins all the time or it stop sometimes and only spin when information needed ?

there is no way you can locate the noise without taking it out of the cabinet, and sitting it open on a desk in front of you

hard drives spin all the time normally. there are settings in windows to control that, and i cannot tell you what you have them set to - you'd have to tell ME that.

i have set nothing just plugged in like normal usage. never setted anything

Possibly a HDD dying. I had a grinding noise on the lead up to one of mine dying howerever like mussels says you need to take it out and check whats making the noise.

I stopped the psu fan while the computer was working and its officialy the psu fan ..the psu was bought in february but dont want to mess up with the warranty and sent it back to usa so ill just install a new 120mm fan. Do you know a cheap and good fan comapny for normal 120mm fan ?

Mussels: Can you show me the path to the setting for that ? I'm new in Windows 7 Pro. Just installed it and even in Vista I dont know where to find it out. Than kfor the help.

Yate Loon 120mm fans are really cheap. You can get them for like $2 each on ebay.

Try this:

Control Panel --> Power Options --> Then whatever 'power plan' you have selected, click 'Change plan settings', which is next to it. --> Change advanced power settings --> Click the plus sign next to Hard Disk --> Click the plus sign next to 'Turn off hard disk after' --> And then the option to set the time should be there. Hope that helps.

But in fact i never let the computer open when im not in front so when i use it it never goes off.

yate loon 120mm are good for PSU fans, its what corsair and OCZ use in many of their PSU's anyway.
