Help needed with crysis map!!

Hi i downloaded the map Real Time Water Effects for crysis and i need to do this install thing and i understand nothing....here is the guide..im seriously lost...i dont even know what the 'explorer' is or where to find it

Well here it is guys a compilation of the water effects me and shortstuf7 have been mucking about with for the past couple of days. There is a tidal wave that hits the map at the start but it can be turned off!

Installation
------------

To make the map work correctly you MUST install the Particle files!

Here we go:

1) Extract the Physics2.RAR into your maps folder so that the physics2 folder is inside.
2) Open explorer go to your Crysis Directory
3) Go into the Game folder
4) Open the libs folder
5) Put the particles.rar into it and right click it, on the context menu click Extract here

Okay so your directory should look like this

The Map "Crysis\Maps\Physics2\ <All the files including PHyics2.cry>

The Particle file "Crysis\Game\Libs\Particles\ <all the particle files>

1. open up the drive that crysis is installed on.
2. go to the program files folder find were crysis is installed
3. go inside the "maps" folder
4. paste "Physics2.RAR" here
5. once inside the "maps" folder extract (right click and hit extract here) "Physics2.RAR "
6. now their should be a folder called "Physics2" inside the maps folder.
7.now back out and go inside the "Game" folder
8.now that your in the game folder go into the "libs" folder
9.paste "particles.rar" in this folder
10. right click on particles.rar and click "extract here"

thankyou very much but where is this libs folder found? also is this the game folder where the config, levels, localized,lowspec folders are found with some other PAK files below? and i cant find lib in the game folder

i think i ahve it..i opened gamedata PAK file with winrar and a file caled lib is in there

ya deff wasnt supposed to do that.

well thats the only way i culd find the folder libs though it still says cannot find realtimewater.xml

A. i cant have a screen shot of your crysis directory? (im on laptop so i cant use my game as ref)
B. you dont give me a clue as to what your doing. and then when i tell you something ist right you contridict me by telling me its all you could do?


may i please have a screen shot of the game directory?

did you extracy the files in the .pak?

if so you need to delete them they do not belong were they are.

im sorry if i insulted you it can be figured out. just try to work with me. if someone on the forums gives you a step and you do 6 its hard for us to help. if you mess up on step 4 and it cant be fixed their is nothing we can do. I wish i could make a simple batchfile and upload an auto install for you. but i dont know enough about your system so we need to take it one step at a time. because if you loose me i cant help and it turns into 2 blind people trying to discribe an elephant to each other (metaphore) know what i mean?

well if you want to give it another go here are some things that might help you out.


basically "explorer" like "open eplorer" "in explorer" etc is an "explorer window. what is an explorer window? ever look in your pictures folder? or your music folder? my documents? my computer? that little box everything is in is called an explorer window

when your inside the EA folder just go upto the search box and type libs and hit enter. it should search for the folder for you an display it. its a fast way to get were you need to go. if it doesnt find it go deeper (deeper means that you click on other folders in the folder you are in.) and search again.

Ok great..i done that... i right clicked pressed explore opened up the search thing wrote libs and i could never find libs until i searched on the internet and it said to open the PAK files with winrar and the files libs would be there..and it was and then silly me (im 13) done something wrong and i didnt know how to fix it so i just uninstalled it

well its allright. next time you get around to doing this give us a link to the source. the web site you found this all at. then find your crysis folder and take a screen shot. you can do this by pressing "prnt scrn" on your keyboard. then open paint and press CTRL and the "V" key at the same time. save it and upload to this site. and then we can see what you see. which makes it alot easier.
