I am new to over clocking and have searched for a post like this so I could learn the what to knows and how too, that is why I came was for information and knowledge like this.I have found some things here and there but none as descriptive or informative as this guide.Thank you for all the links.They are just what I was looking for and needed.Great post that should be in the introduction some how so that people looking at sites like this to start OCing can research.Like myself most people probably jump right to overclocking sites to learn how to increase performance with limited knowledge and are looking for some place to gain that knowledge so they start here.After reading this guide, which was something like what I was looking for,I can find links to gain that knowledge as well as the info you have included.Maybe create a whole section on basic information with good links for us newbies, it would save alot of time in the threads.Anyway I feel as though I've hit the jack pot here Thanks for the information and help.

I got a ATI hd 4730 and before you say it it's not the best I know but for my money I spent £50 on it which is a really good price for performance and I want to buy another to go in my X-fire machine. I OCed E6550 2.33GHz to 3.7GHz on my Asrock mobo but I couldn't put up voltage past 1.6v so that was the limit but still a cool 60% more.
Heared that some OCer's were unlucky with vtt voltages being to high on quad so I kept mine down only needed 1.35v anyway. PLL was up to 1.86v and NB 1.44v.
I did put each setting up to board max which was PLL 2.75v NB 2.22v and vtt was 2.6v and no effect but did bottle out fast and reset bios.
When I OCed I found need more volts for booting up you can't just up the fsb all the way and expect it to work but it is nice to know how far it can go first! hee heeeee....
By the way GREAT OC INFO ON HERE THANKS TO THE AUTHOR!!!

...just a tidbit, i got my 920 to 4.1 and very stable....i started to read about OC' ing and got hooked...and now i went from 2.67ghz to 4.1ghz in 3 days...i will continue to read all there is to know about it...and thanks for all the info!

I just bought 3 packs of Super Talent 2000 mhz memory and QPI-dram in xmp rises to 1.6V.
Is marked very dark red.
Is that ok !!!???
