I am in the market for a good RPG game.

It can be free or P2P. I just want something with good content and fun characters. A summoner of some kind is a huge bonus. Good graphics are a huge plus too. I hate dumbed down graphics with my system.

Should I start something new or should I be waiting on something new coming out soon?

any ideas?

Mass Effect 1 & 2, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age Origins.

You may want to add Drakensang to that list, but I haven't played it, so I can't comment.

Other games I haven't tried, but which may be worth a look: Age of Conan; Karos Online (free); Land of Chaos Online (don't think it's out yet); Champions Online; Last Chaos; The Secret World...

Are you looking for a MMO, due to the free/P2P deal? DDO is a good one on either front.

ya MMO is ok ... if it meets what I want it to .... per the first post.

I just have a lot of time now and figured I should try and find something to help pass the time for awhile

KotOR 1 and 2 , NWN 1 and 2 and one of the best RPGs around The Witcher

+1 on the DAO/ME recommendation, solid games with decent graphics.
FF13 is awesome but not on the PC.

MMORPG wise try Aion, CryEngine makes it looks great, though it get a bit annoying at higher levels.

nwn? .... neverwinter nights?

Titans Quest is good too.

I find it funny how none of the newer games have been mentioned. Looks like most the games are a few years old. kinda sad for RPG fans.

With these games being so old will I be at huge disadvantage starting now? I really want good graphics cause it bugs me to no end when I have no eye candy haha

Guild Wars. Pay to buy, free to play online. Five years old, looks awesome and is still quite populated.

Titans Quest isnt that old.

true... but the others seem to be.

Is only getting 1 character ok in titans quest? I like to have choices

From what I remember you only get one but its highly customizable and the plot/graphics are down right pretty. I never found everything thats for sure.

DA: origins is a MUST

I will look into DA origins ... it seems to have gotten a lot of good reviews

You can try Risen too. It's basically Gothic 4...it's good.

is that an MMO or more of a dragon age on your own type game?

It's single player.

Mass Effect series and Dragon Age:Origins. A must play.

Mass effect 2, Torchlight and Demigod :) give it a try

demigod looks interesting ... i am just confused on what type of game it is.

you PVP with other people it seems like. how do you level or get gear or increase rank?

is there quests or an open market to sell stuff or what?

thanks

If you're into MMOs, you can try Silkroad. It's a pain in the ass to actually log in to though, most of the time you can't go right in, you'll have to wait in a line... and that wait can be quite, quite long, if you log in at a bad time. There's a website that monitors server activity and they'll tell you what your PoC (Probability of Connecting) is for each server. If it's above 20, it shouldn't take you any more than 15 minutes to log in (not really a big deal, alt-tab out and browse TPU :)). If you do decide to try this game out, let me know, I'll guide you through it. If you don't take the proper path when making your character you'll be screwed at the later levels, but if you do it right, you'll be hitting for ~450-500 damage in one shot like me :)

Guild wars is an absolutely brilliant game, I have hundreds of hours logged - but I must say that the game is dying furiously fast (or was when I stopped playing). While there are still people playing the game the economy is f'ed and playing through lower level areas its going to be hard to find good companions to mission with.

GW2 is coming soon, but certainly not in time for your needs - it looks truly epic though.

ya I use to play GW all the time it was really good. I am waiting on GW2 and hopefully they dont ruin it :)

I will look in the ME and silkroad and demigod ....see what they look like
