the Philips sensor doesn't have the greatest reputation. there has been a lot of complaints about comfort regarding the RAT 7.

there is a Mad Catz rep and a large thread over at HardForum. the mouse uses a Philips Twin-Eye laser sensor they have been nothing but problematic.

All you naysayers!

My mouse arrived today through a pricing error i think! Got it from Lamda Tek for about £65 with next day postage (just in stock). That afternoon it's price is up to £90, in line with overclockers and scan.

My mouse is on a Razer Destructor mouse mat and there are no lift or delay problems. Also, the customisation to fit my mutantly small hands is fantastic - that alone makes it one of the best ergonomic mice out there.

Yes it looks like a mouse thats been 'transformed' by the power from the 'all spark' but by God, it's wonderful.....

haha its so funny how the actual review states its comfortability due to all its adjustments, n the precision/slow down button for say sniping? I def agree lol its a weird mouse. Honestly tho i don't think that it looks comfortable but with that many adjustments for fine tuning your hands fit i can't see how it wouldn't be comfy.

Idk, the whole adjustment idea is cool, but more moving parts mean more things can go wrong in the future. But who cares what me or anyone else thinks! If you really like this mouse go get it.

true, after a lil bit of time one of those "joints" is going to losen up in a way that can't be fixed by the lil tool. Course my 4 yr old, $10, microsoft optical mouse is still kicking exactly as did on day 1. love simplicity lol

Looks awesome? yes!
Can be customized to be comfortable? maybe!
Too fragile for serious gaming? sure!

I believe that Cyborg/Saitek/Mad Catz keyboards and mice are flimsy and are of inferior quality when compared to the ones made by Logitech, Microsoft, Razer, SteelSeries, and Gigabyte.

That thing looks insane! Something worth a lot of Ooohs and Aaahs at a LAN party, definitely!
I'd love to feel it out in a shop or something.
It does look sensitive to falls though, and I would still buy the M$ Sidewinder X8 for the hybrid wired/wireless usage. That being said though, if this was a hybrid (and had bluetrack too maybe) I'd probably buy it (hint hint M$... it's time for a SW X9)!

Godly mouse indeed... with a sensor from the devil's anus. Any tracking issues yet? I've had to get rid of two mice due to that sensor.

Why are we focusing on the sensor when the thread is about looks?

Anyway, not a good sensor, and I could care less how the mouse looks as long as it is easy to hold for long gaming sessions. My Razor Diamondback 3G is probably my favorite, but I end up using a Logitech G5 most of the time.

Played a few sessions of MW2 and no issues with tracking. The precision aim button on the left hand side is a mechanical cheat! It drops the dpi when you depress it to a chosen % of the dpi setting currently selected. Good for dropping from 2600dpi to a very minimal movement for long range shots.

I have a G9 (loverly mouse) and just wanted this as well. I had a Razer Deathadder that died on me after 3 months, a Roccat KOne that died on me and then ordered a Coolermaster Sentinel which was broken (sensor not working at all) on delivery.

In all honesty, the G9 is probably the best mouse i've used but the sheer customisation of this mouse (yes it feels odd!) makes it very novel indeed.

But, like a fine wine, a mouse is a very personal object. I like my R.A.T 7 because it's different and if i own your bottom on MW2, praise the mouse :rockout:

In MW2 i am '12p Corpse' (dont ask...)
