I don't really care what a hub looks like if it accomodates large USB devices (fat old sticks), but why is this not 3.0 ?

maybe it can, but with a firmware update in the future. who knows. USB 3.0 would make it stand out from the crowd a lot more then looking like something Batman unclipped from his belt to throw at a criminal.
 
OMG ! It looks like SHIT ! And is that a fan ? Spinning open blades ! Oh I see no law suit there not at all ! Some geek will loose an eye !

hardly - TPU reviewed one. i think they are made with a really soft rubber or plastic. and since the max votage is 5v from the USB, it will hardly drive the fan fast enough to do any serious damage,

your more then likely to do a lot more damage by poking yourself in the eye then one of these spinning fans will ever do. unless your mentally unbalanced, into self harm and at the same time retardedly serious about hurting yourself that you turn 'Macabre' and must find millions of ways how to hurt yourself in the most stupidest ways possible.

Im not saying that the spinning fins wont cause any damage - but within in reason. If you have small children running around, then this fan might not be 100% safe as it may hurt them.

Any way looks dumb I have seen better ones .

Gotta have the right chip in it to be 3.0; pretty sure a firmware update can't do that.
