sorry already posted :P its hidden away in a PC vs Console thead.

UDK already has this engine update, I'm surprised how fast Epic made this stuff available.

Only thing that was kind of disappointing is that there is no DX10 fallback for ANY of the features. DX11 hardware or you get squat. I'm kind of waiting for BF3 before dropping the upgrade bomb so I don't qualify.

That tech demo looked INCREDIBLE!!!
:rockout:

A bit odd how the police robot at the end is similar to the Makron of Quake 4.
Furthermore.. how to show off HD in .. well, the shittiest compression YouTube has to offer :P

Looks promising nonetheless though :)

it reminded me of ED-209 from RoboCop :D

The problem is this isn't really showcasing the engine. All that stuff can be done and has been done already, if not all at once. What's really different is they put cgi level effort and detail into it. That's not so much about the engine as the developers. I highly doubt we'll see that in games for a very long time. It doubles if not triples the work load and takes up more disc space. It was much simpler to do it for a short demo like that. Engine wise I'd be much more impressed if they did a day scene with less blurring effects.

One can only hope ;)

i saw that when it came out! lol pc graphics ftw!! and dam! it took 3 gtx 580's to run that demo! :P

holy shit is that Lemmy from motorhead???

comment was right thats a terrible waste of ciggarets

too bad there will be no more Unreal titles for the PC platform -- they couldnt make a winner so they threw a strop, blamed piracy and raged hard and declared they were no longer making games for PC. At least Unreal Tournament lives on in their engines.

that looks like a badass game! lets hope the in game graphics are as good as the video clips

reading the console comments on the youtube video makes me laugh at how stupid people really are when it comes to technology. but whatever. too bad we might see this tech in 10 yrs when consoles get upgraded to what are computers are right now

If consoles aren't dead by then and they go to mobile instead.

uh 10 years try over a week ago.

all the tech used in the video was made available to their free UDK version weeks ago. so i guess if you have DX11 hardware and the talent than you're more than ready to make a video just like it.

cops also reminded me of the combine in hl2, especially when he said "hey" when hit by the cigarette.
