I'd rather just see a sale like last years Spring sale. Thought this seems like a mix of last years summer and Spring sales. It's cool they offer prize tickets and such, but at 1 day for certain trophies in numerous games, I don't really have time for that.

I bought Oblivion GOTY Deluxe, Drakensang, Drakensang: The River of Time, and Back to the Future. I too don't plan on doing the contest stuff as I don't have the time either.

I'm 1 of those people who actually bought Hexen 2 when I found it on steam....been having problems trying to get it to start ever since...they shouldn't put them for sale if they don't work with the latest operating systems, it's just a big tease...shaking its booty and telling you that you can never have it :cry:

Downloading TW2 at about a third of my normal speed from Steam. Drops out occasionally but comes back. Not bad, considering...

Any version of Unreal works on any Windows problem free. Even the very original retail UT99 from 1999 works out of the box (even completely unpatched) on Win7. Or the first Unreal (just in software or Glide using an emulator) That's really one of the stronger Unreal Engine points. It has an incredible compatibility with new OS.
It shouldn't be any different with Steam versions. You can upgrade older Unreal games with enhanced D3D or OGL renderers and there is even an OpenAL audio renderer that can handle 128 sounds on modern soundcards. Carnage galore

Yeah I still have a backup folder of the my original Unreal disk and it installs and runs fine on Win 7 64. FYI tons of updates incl DX10 renderer at oldunreal.com

There are even still a few active multiplayer servers.

Totally. It is indeed good fun and you can be pretty creative in what you do in the game. Long after beating the game I still find myself playing from time to time just to mess around and blow stuff up.

I'd like to. Are there any extra maps to download which anyone knows about?
Steam sales mean jack and shit to me since I'd rather own retail releases of games. But if it's digital only or a very old game, which is very likely it'll have XP/Vista/7 support, I'll buy it from Steam.
Even the VALVe Source games I'll be buying factory retail releases.
