what video card did you get?

Gigabyte HD 6850 amd radeon

Have you connected the power plug from the PSU to the card? Six pin, I think you only need one.

ok power down the machine completely, unplug powersupply from wall, remove the video card and then reseat it in the slot (push down all of the edge closest to you)- check the back of the case where the video card is inserted to ensure no connector standoff is blocking it (normally where DVI/VGA plugs into).

Make sure to plug in a 6-pin pci express powersupply connector into it, if it has 2 plug in 2. Power Up the machine again

it is plugged in to PS....ok, did all that before...it is nicely seated...no blockages....6 pin plugged in...only 1 that I see

do you have fan movement from everything else?

yep...everything else seems fine...

try plugin the monitor VGA into the motherboard itself to see if you get video, If you do then you need to turn off onboard GFX

no video there either...the other PS had a 4 pin ATX 12v auxillary connector connected...but no 4 pin connector on the new PS...could this be an issue?

It has to have. What's the PSU? So the board is powered only by the 24 pin? Connect the 4/8 pin to the board, it should be a connector close to the CPU.

corsair 600 yes, only the 24 pin only pin near cpu is the 4 pin on this mobo

OK plug in the 4 pin to the mobo so the CPU can get power.

PSU is corsair cx600? You have to have an eight pin connector which can be splitted in two 4 pins. it looks just like the pci-e connector you plugged into the vid card. Plug the first four into C on your mobo.

I second that, newer Powersupplies have what is known as a 12v P4 Connector or 2 attached to eachother which makes it an 8 pin, read your powersupply manual for the connectors.

ahhh yes...that worked! I must have been frustrated to not see that...thanks a bunch...you guys are great!!!

Our pleasure. Glad we were of some assistance.

Enjoy your machine, Wish Smooth Sailing for you too. if you need help just come back and post new on your problems
