buy some ends?

Lets say you are looking down at fan header:

pin/pin/pin
---CLIP---

=

black/red/yellow
-----CLIP-----

or look here:

I know about the ends and I've seen that wiki link already lol, otherwise I wouldn't have come here. The thing is, I see this and it doesn't look like my cables have it.

Pictures 6,7, and 8, it seems like a "C" shaped metal that I don't have. Is that necessary?

Just found out that it's called a Crimp Pin

You cna buy the clips..they are fairly cheap, and are what hold the wires i nthe end as well as provide contact with the pins. I am not familiar with where to buy on the net, as I have a local electronic parts store that stocks them.

EDIT, yes, exactly. ;)

Does this require soldering?

Yes. Easy stuff though. I mean, you could just crimp the clip over, but i like to push a dab of solder in there just for security.

Alright, just one more question, so in the pic I showed you, does those little strips of metal just need to touch that crimp and it'll work? :)

I usually get my pins over at frozencpu. either of the 3pin fan connectors will work for ya. if you go with the male connector with the 3pins already on them then your gonna want to solder the wires on. If you go with the crimping, you'll want female connectors found on most case fans. I do those all the times and have good exp with them.
