I've been looking for a new wireless usb adapter.

I'm considering this: D-Link DWA-182 Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Adapter I...

^^^Are these speeds even possible on the 5GHz band with a usb 2.0 connection?

Also looking at: ASUS EA-N66 Dual-Band Wireless-N900, 3 in 1 Access...

Are there any AC rated adapters that are Windows 8 certified?

What adapters are Windows 8 certified?

Why aren't there any usb 3.0 adapters?

Was looking at this at first but now after reading some consumer reviews I am not sure: Linksys AE3000 Dual-Band Wireless-N Adapter with 3...

I plan on upgrading from a DLink DIR-655 router and DWA-160 adapter and have been waiting to see what new ones get Windows 8 certifications and can support the speeds quoted. Currently leaning towards these routers:

AC: ASUS RT-AC66U Dual-Band Wireless AC 1750 Gigabit R...
non AC: ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Route...

Does anyone have a real life experience with any of the 3 adapters, linked above?

I'll take as much advice as I can get. Thanks.

Ive got an ASUS RT-N16 router. Ive been quite happy with it, so I'd imagine their other products are good as well.

You probably wont get dual band speed over a usb 2.0 port. But you can still do about 30MB/s. That's at least what i get reading off my ntfs external drive.

Not sure you need something thats Windows 8 certified, just look on their support site and see if they have drivers for it.

Side note: try windows 8 before you worry about it. I tried it at work in a VM, could not get into it. I miss the start button
