The highly anticipated continuation of the Grand theft Auto series - GTA IV - is around the corner. In its financial results conference call, publisher Take Two has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto IV will be shipped simultaneously for the Xbox 360 and PS3 this October.

Take Two also announced that Rockstar will introduce exclusive episodic content downloads for the game in 2008.

It is worth mentioning that back at E3 2006, Microsoft announced a deal with Take Two's Rockstar to have exclusive episodic content for the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV.

As in the past, it is most probably going to take a while before the game is ported to PC.

I overall liked the series, but San Andreas ended up being too long and drawn out for me. I grew tired of it, and quit playing. Never even beat it, actually. I hope they mix the content a little better this time around.

I doubt it. They got into a lot of trouble for that. They could get away with it if they rated it as AO(Adult Only), but not if they're going for the M rating.
 
More than likely they will...They have with every major GTA but it will come in 2009 if it happens.
 
Alright time for more controversy, lawsuits, and MEAN senators starting campaigns against Rockster. GTA FTW!!!! :roll:
 
hopefully it isn't going to be a re-hash of the previous GTA and rockstar and T2 will be smart enough to bring something new to the table...
 
I always loved GTA's, but they would get a lot more sales if they just sold the f**king thing on PC from the start.
 
This game was set for October since day one....but no one knows what city is gonna be about, who the main character is going to be, the story, features...etc.
 
It's set in Bedfordshire, South East England.

The main character is Casheti. Damn, that boy is one gangsta mutha fucka.

You might said one thing right...England, as the 3D series was based on the original birds-eye-view series, London is next in line.

I hate starting it and getting good at the controller, just to have to stop.
 
There was a rumor a while back that it was an exact copy of London down to every house in every neighborhood. They could do this and it would be very cool.
 
This game sucks and I hate it. Personal opinion but IVe played all the ones my nephew has (1-4) and I cant stand them. ITs the stupidest piece of gaming crap Ive seen in quite some time. Sorry for the rant, I just really cannot stand this game.

why would you want it in London? No sky scrapers and lots of congestion

, so this new GTA we are all going to have to take buses and undergrounds (which are also heavily congested). Haha this will be fun ;)
 
Good news! I love the GTA series, I can see why some people didn't like GTA: SA but the Hip-Hop/LA theme just attracted me more. IMO GTA: San Andreas is the best in the series and hopefully GTAIV will be much like it (similar theme).
 
I have them all on PS2 finished them all too :D
 
didnt the game The Getaway take place in London? i didnt think that game did very well compared to GTA but who knows? maybe London would be a good change for GTA

I didnt like both of the Getaway, Getaway Black something its was like your where stiff and it was boring not like the GTA games
 
Isn't there a Getaway coming out for the PS3? Or was that just a techdemo?

I want a worldwide GTA, that would be kind of neat.
 
They should do it in New York (Bronx, Manhattan etc...), but I'm sure they would change the name. In San Andreas, California's Inglewood became Idlewood in Los Santos. New York would be nice, but for some reason the east coast doesn't attract to me like the west side.
