Hey guys planning on getting my wife her own sound card to fit her senn hd 700. (both gaming and just music or video).

I have a Asus Xonar Phoebus but she didn't want to have the same stuff as me. There are many other good but which one do you guys think is better?

Note: we got a 5-10$ sale so it's better than the original price. (converting price to us dollars)

Asus Xonar D2X PCIE Audio Card = 146.92$
Asus Xonar Essence STX PCIe Audio Card = 134.70$
Asus Xonar Essence ST PCI Audio Card = 159.19$

or just grab the same as mine?
Asus Xonar Phoebus PCI Audio Card = 171.41$

just wondering there is a big difference in price between the stx and st but looks the same? when using google they said it's the same and looking at their specs the only difference is the stx using pci and st using the pcie. will it produce a ground breaking sound better than the stx? how about my phob? it's using a pci slot comparing it to the st with it's pcie?

her speaker if I recall correctly is a 5.1 or 7.1 if it means anything (uses it when watching movies or youtube and stuff.) clarified it's 7.1 hehehehe

note2: she likes asus brand so other brands are a no go (besides that red headset/phone from asus that she said looked ugly).

For Headphones go for the STX or ST, they will sound better than the D2X and the Phoebus, specially for music.

STX and ST are the same card except the STX is PCIe and the ST PCI. No performance or sound difference at all.

Also the STX and ST doesn't have 7.1 analog out, but there is an expasion card (Xonar H6 i think) with 7.1 analog out for the ST ONLY.

Or buy her a Phoebus which IMO is better than the D2X.

IMO with those headphones i would only consider the ST, STX or the Creative Titanum HD or the ZxR. Or an external DAC.

well thank you for the input and I've decided to get her the STX or was it ST (the one with pci short one). I'll just do something with her speaker. She should be happy as she's coming from onboard sound lol.

Looked at somer creative titanium and cost were 367.37$ converted lol actually I liked my wife's headphone sadly I only have a cheap cv1300 (which is good for my needs XD).

There will be a huge difference between onboard sound a and a dedicated sound card with those headphones.
