all i wana know is what ar the pro.s and cons to theas cpu.s

4000+ san diego [130nm]

4000+ san diego [90nm]

is ther a rilly big difernce [does one oc better or run cooler ???

The lower the NM the better.. they run cooler and generally overclock better
Prescott must be 20000000 nm lol

hey

far as i know prescot is 130nm .. same as my xp3000 2.1gh its 130nm

so far my 90nm 4000+ has bin to 2.9gh havent rilly bin pushen it yeat

well Prescott's are 90nm ;) and it's your mobo and I think ram but mobo cuz Ive gotten 4410GHz on my P4 Prescott 520J

@ curt so what was wrong with your amd s939 3800+ 2.4gh @ 2.8gh

what kind of temps are you getting with your home made water cooler/ [2] stage chiller is 2 in 1

hey

thers nothin rilly rong with the a64 3800 still runs 2.8gh no prob just not fast enuf for me

since i was runnen my old xp 3000 @ 2.6gh. my lil bro wants to buy the 3800+
[i allso wanted the 1mb cash cus my xp3000 was 512kb an so is the 3800+ :(]
the 4000+ is now running 3000mh stable :) wooho the 3800+ cant do over 2.8 has ishews

you guys would laph at how many friends of mine have tryed to buy 2.6gh xp3000
it can keep up with my buddes p4 2.8gh 1mb cash runnen 3.6gh in 3dmark with same vid card in both points wer with in 300+- of 21000 the intel won by the 300 points or so

the cpu volt is 1.550v so far

temps ar 24c core temp idel water is at 17.9 [i have a manule temp probe right next to the core]

and 30-35c core temp at load i can go lower but hasent helped yeat

i normaly keep my water temp under 25c

an if had it as low as -15 useing water/antyfreez but not on the a64 system that was on my xp 3000 an got stable speeds of 2.7gh

ok

the 4000+ crashed @ 3000mh with cpu volt of 1.55

so i droped it to 2916mh running fine with a cpu volt of 1.50

cpu allso still has the cap on it that will come off 1 day when im bored

hey

wow the 4000+ made it to windows at 3gh on stock voltige 1.390 i was like

now its bin on about 5 mins wow fsb is at 250 an ram is set 1.1 lol

bout 10 mins into she crashed dropped ram trying agean

check out my 4000, i had it at 3.3 and it did a full range of benchies at 3.45 but my asus will only shutdown after i surpass the max safe voltage of 1.53, currently running 3.1Ghz at 258 mem 1-1 at 3338, thing fly's, i can see why you traded out or x2

hey

naw it was a single core 3800+ but yeah i dident like it

plus once i hered the 4000+ was basikly a fx chip i was like ohh baby

my max volt for my epox mob on the 4000 is 1.70v havint bin that high yeat

im goin on 20 mins now cpu at 3011mh at stock volt still [had to drop my ram to 200 from 250

lol now im trying 3120 with .1 volt bump crashed at stock volt goes up to +0.35

core temp in windows 33c [cap is still on cpu ] i got about a 5-8c drop by taken the cap off my 3800+ but man is it hard to line up that core on a home made water block an the 4000 core is probly not alot bigger seing as its the 90nm one

im happy with 3gh for now but its nice to know 3.2gh isint out of reach speshaly with my chiller unit

so mage343 u wer getting 3.3gh 3.4gh on air cooling ?? an is your ram ddr 1 or ddr2 [looks like ddr1 to me]

cool cool, i'm doing all mine on air, i'm waiting and savin my cash for later this year, i'm gonna do a completely new rig ad sell this one off. i did order a ultra 120 from thermalright and a panaflo 120mm fan, i've beenr reading review on them and my friend has an x2 4800 that idles at 29 in a 22c room at 2.9ghz. so i'm sure it's an improvement over my hyper48 from coolermaster, even though it does serve it's purpose, i think i idle at like 32/33, and load at about 41/42 after 2hours of prime.

hey

i allso like how your psu is on the bottem that a nice tuch so its suckin out all the system heat thats what case fans ar fore

i dont have that prob [no case] but still a nice tuch

i love my water cooler evin just esun room temp to cool the cpu beats any heat sinks if tested allthot my water unit is much bigger then most i have a pic in a cuple posts

I have a 4000+ also. I run @ 12x250 @ 1.4v stable on air. The stock vcore on these is 1.35 to 1.4 per specs. I have ddr500 so I am @ 1:1 Try 1.4v out. Sometimes more juice isn't always better.

I have a 3800+ Venice and 2x512's of ddr500 for it. Sad to hear it may not hit 3Ghz. Oh well, I still have my 3700+ Sandy and it will do 2.75Ghz @ 1.4v :rockout:

hey

yeah no matter what i did the 3800 would not break 2.8gh but odly enuf it can make it to windows at 3gh but u try playing a game an OMG big chuncks of graficks missin an stuff

no such probs with the 4000 yeat runnen 3119mh @ 1.485c

ram is at about 209mh rite now

allso what ar ppl revishion types mine is sh-e5 [version 4.3?]

an what is [nx technology] on amd cpu.s

i tried keeping the voltage low, i hit a wall at 2.84 and had to up it a little, i'm giving it 1.53 temps are respectable, performance is incredible, i went up from a 3500 at 2.65 lol, so huge improvement from me, i got a kit of 2x1024 corsair at 1-1 258 3338, it's workin out real well

4000 130nm = clawhammer core
4000 90nm = san diego core

both at 2.4GHZ and 1mb l2 cache

got my +4000 sandy on a pelt, shame i cant take voltage higher than 1.6 on my mobo unless i hardmod it. got it easily to 3.2 without a sweat, but as i said, the voltage sux, so cant do more on this board. A real shame since under load it only reaches 13C, -7 idle :D think b4 my nxt upgrade im gonna volt mod my mobo and maybe my x1900xtx, push everything to the limit and see how far it flies.

But yeah, the Sandy core is just a sweet ass mother thats rock stable and overclocks like some demented beehatch

I am stable up to 2.9ish, but with a bit more voltage can push 3.0 or 3.1. But I start getting errors in Prime 95 and a few missing textures in game after a bit.

I don't know if it is too much heat, or just a faulty core. And yes, the 4000+ is a locked FX chip, but I believe they are locked for the reason of poor overclocking ability. But I will have to cool mine a bit better with the cap off to see how much of a difference that will make.

hey

so far so good 1.50v runnin 3011 for now with an odd fsb of 300 is workin for me thow

if allways wanted to try a peltear just never got one i can do temps down to -15 but if had condesation prob before an my water hoses wer freezing to things
[killed a nforce2 asus board :(]

with no cpu stached my cooler cah hit -30 an i froze the water block to the carpet opps lol

i allso will try a cpu hard volt mod one day but not till i get the cap off this cpu helps if u brave enuf to risk crushen the core [haven crushed one yeat knock on wood] pluse they rilly start kicken out heat with the mother board volt mod.s like my xp3000 at 2.2v

my crushel value [bga] ddr1 ram can allmost do 250mh stable at 2t 3338 have to mess with them a bit

only pushen 2.6v an thers no ram sinks rite now

you should try the swifty pelt blocks, i had a custom built waterblock/pelt combo that got down to -20C, but it was flaky, the swifty block i use works great, upwards of 3.2Ghz @ 13C load cant be bad :D

hey

how ar peltears for just streat heat transfer with no power

i would emagin not vary good

thats the only prob i have what if the pelt dies is that like insta fry

once i get this cap off my cpu it will stay under 25c load easy i was losing 3-8c jump temps with the cap on my 3800+

i just hate takin them off delicate work

an hard to sell them after

not like my modded video cards i cant stop ppl from buying them off me i bought a 6600gt modded the crap outa it had it for a totale of 3 days an my buddy kev bought it off me for $40 more then i paied for it cost of mods i say all i put into it was labor

wow wow wow lol

ok i see what u guys mean about that 1t setting got mine stable at 1t 3338 ddr400 so far 2.6v

ok at 2.5v i was at 2t 3.3.3.8 an got 4700mb.s

an at 2.6v usen 1t 3.3.3.8 i got 5300mb.s

i duno how high i wana be pushin this ram with no ram sinks

ok

got it down now i put some difernt heat sink.s / spreaders on my bga ddr1 ram

i used a new way of glueing them on just started changen my

still usen super gluw wich works awsome an in none conducktive [it has to be iv plastered chips before just make shure its dry first of corse an heat sinks mush be rughly sanded to give a stick base

ram temp now 27c at ddr400 was 34c open chip

this ram dosent like high fsb at 1t camand rate so im at 210mh runnen 1t 2.5/3/3/6

getting 5900mb.s so far in sandra soft

Umm, pelts are solid state coolers, no moving parts, very unlikely to fail if used under correct circumstances. Hell, your pc would shutdown if the cpu got too hot, so the pelt failing is not a great con to throw at it, more likely that the powersupply powering the pelt would fail, either way, no harm can be done. The only thing that can happen, is that if u dont use a relay kit to start/stop it with the pc turning on/off. I had the unfortunate experience of once leaving my pelt turned on when my pc and pumps were not... eek, woke up to a bit of a mess i have to say. Lost a perfectly goodx800 and a mobo, however, that prescott processor bleedin survived, hahaha, god i think i cud throw it in a blender and it would still work...

hey

yes the system would turn but some bios ar so stuped the cpu hit over 120c before shutting down my point bing that cant be good for a pelteatr my water system wont go over 55c evin with no pumprunning it will just sit in windows around 52c 55c worst case i get rite now is my hose go all rubbery but never hot enuf top melt

i was gamen for 2 days wondering y it was crashing forgot the water pump was off lmao

my other point is my water block is big enuf to disapate the heat (at idel) [wats 120c guna do to a peltear] just wana know cus i do heat tests like that

ther rated for like 60c arnt they peltears [and how much of a worry is conesation with the peltear
[can u over volt peltears? to make them colder]

once i had a amd 1gh playing live for speed stable at 160c the fan on the heat sink was melting an so was the cpu socket i did that for fun wile back to see what max run stable temp was never found it for the cpu core i mean

sell all the amd's and get a CORE 2 DUO, you know its the right step................lol

just kidding.
