There are a lot of options with this and you need to follow the installation instructions carefully.
Don't skim the instructions, then wonder why it doesn't work.
I got the Tifas mod package. 17 GB.
The download torrent is fast.

Do these mods apply to the re-release ff7 or the original buggy version?

That site has mods for everything ff7 it seems, very overwhelming.

There is a package download that makes it simpler.
It is big though. I got it. Was a fast download speed.

I am using the Re-release.
Regardless it will update the original or the re-release.

Does the torrent come with instructions? Because I'm almost done with my current game and I'd like to not have to remember this kind of crap.

Lol come on man.. Read the Op plz.
I specifically say "Here is a video tutorial", with a link to it. XD

But I don't know when I'll be done, and I would much rather not have to remember that this thread exists.

Ahh I think I get what you mean now.
Copy and paste the links into a text document and put it on your computer then. :)
I don't know if the torrent comes with instructions. I don't think so.

Posted a link to the actual forum walk through.
It is what is in the video, just you can scroll through it at your own pace.
I hope that helps.

You can also subscribe to the thread for now, to make it easier to find later if you want.

I'm sure you can find some through the links I posted but they are indeed worth it.

The changes to most things are amazing.
They don't go crazy with it. I mean it's not like you are Metro last light.
They stay real to the feeling of the game, while dramatically increasing the appearance of everything and improving the sound track quality to modern standards.
Talking shaders, bloom and Hd effects, modern day stuff here.
New character/weapon/item/world models and textures. They actually look nice/decent.

Even googling ( FF7 bootleg HD ) should get you a lot of results.

I have a background in 3-D animation, game scripting and texture modding.
I can say with absolute security, that the amount of effort they put into this, is nothing short of amazing imo..

So yea, imho it's definitely worth it.

Found a decent comparison. Though one looks like a picture of an old standard-d tube television while the other is a screenshot.

the torrent link doesnt work

any other places it could be

finally got it running.
but my god is it harder than the original.

just ignore clouds HP advantage.only testing the game at the moment.(cough cough):p

only problem is that i cant use the xbox 360 joypad to play.any ideas.

Dude, you installed a difficulty mod didn't you? lol. You must of..
I wouldn't. That "gold standard" one is stupid hard..
Use the "Scene Redux" difficulty mod imo.
Makes items actually drop at a reasonable rate and doesn't make it stupid hard.
There are other ones as well.

You may have to reinstall to get it that way or find the files you'd need to overwrite to fix it..
Idk..
I totally reinstalled to fix that.
I did the same thing.

Go to bootleg "Game modes"
You'll see the difficulty options below.

For the best looking cutscenes I would recommend Rumbah's 1280 Smooth.
Tested them and the sharp ones look like absolute crap.

Also might consider the Aeris doesn't die option in there. I am using it. I always wanted to finish the game with Aeris. :)

Joy pad ideas.. Emulate PS 2 controller with motioninjoy.
NOT PSX2 "pressure sensitive" Just plain old PS2.
