Nobody else?

Really?

I have 18 hrs on it. Not sure why it sucked so
bad not sure what I was waiting for before I finally quit.

Has anyone pre-ordered their BF4?? If yes then where from? I can pre-order directly from EA/Origin but I can get it cheaper else where and I still get the expansion.

Id like to get the deluxe edition but for $97 ----ehhhhh. thats like close to a days salary for me

I hope to have it preordered today or tomorrow but the deluxe edition is not worth 97$. All you get its 3 unlocks and early access to beta which you would get anyway if you preordered BF3 or bought MOH.

Well, youre gonna end up paying the extra for premium do you not?

$56 for that standard edition with the bonus expansion back

Deluxe only shows "early BF4 Beta access" and "3 gold battlepacks" Not worth the extra 10$ cause unlocking weapons is the fun of the game and I already get BETA access due to owning BF3 premium and preordering BF3

Is Dave done showing off yet?

Ah, Origin dropped the price from £65 for Deluxe to £55 -- about $82. Bless their cotton socks.

Anyhoo, I think I'll pre-order from CJs when I get paid later in the week Its under $57 for ths standard edition. I get the key 24hrs before the release date, bought quite a few games from them in the past so Im happy going to them if its cheaper

Never was showing off..just trolling.

FYI, anyone in Alpha/Beta has NDA and cannot publically talk about BF4. Gully knows this, and I think that's why he posted about being able to see if someone has BETA access or not. You are all on my friends list, so any of you could have looked and seen I was pulling your leg.

I don't have Alpha/Beta access. I have "Try before you buy" access. If anyone has any details for what that is, I'd like to know. I actually don't have much interest in BF4, so I don't care about beta access. My account has shown this for some time.

Huh. Wierd as I have no clue what that means either. Between that and your crowded Origin I thought mayhaps you reviewed games now too! :)

I tested the EA Link store back when "Origin" first began. Part of that testing was ensuring the purchasing process went smoothly. So most of those older titles in my Origin account are from that. Some of them I bought on deals like new-years or whatever, like what STEAM offers.

I have one of the largest game libraries of all TPU users, spanning across many digital distribution platforms. I also have a few hundred from before digital distribution was a "thing". I've been playing game nearly my entire life, and I don't sell my games, so have kept most.

I've grown in gaming along with the Battlefield series, but lately it seems like BF games are moving backwards rather than forwards. The new title looks kind of interesting, but not enough to make me pre-order. I expect that with returning to school full-time in the fall, I'm not going to have much time for gaming, period.

BF4central - Everything We Know About Battlefield 4 Multiplayer

At the EA booth I jumped into a 64-player conquest battle in the Siege at Shanghai map. After playing through a couple rounds and speaking with executive producer Patrick Bach, here is what I learned.

  • by Matt Bertz on June 18, 2013 at 02:15 PM
  • The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions each support 64-player maps and run at a solid 60 frames per second. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, however, are still limited to 24-players per match and 30 frames per second.
  • Squads can now include five soldiers instead of just four.
  • Given the larger squad size, Squad Deathmatch mode now includes more competitors.
  • Like Battlefield 3, the soldier classes you can play as are assault, engineer, recon, and support. All classes now have more shared weapons so players have more versatility when selecting their loadout.
  • Each class and weapon has a deeper persistance tree than previous Battlefield games.
  • DICE is changing how specializations work. It won't go into the finer details, but the developer is creating a system where you and your squad can bump up your specializations as you play if you are doing well.
  • Gun and player customization are being broadened. You can now have multiple sights on your weapons and add optical magnifiers on the fly.
  • Vehicle progression is deeper as well.
  • DICE has two new game modes it plans to reveal in the near future, and it plans to drop a few modes that were featured in Battlefield 3. The confirmed modes thus far are squad deathmatch, conquest, rush, and team deathmatch.
  • Hardcore mode is returning.
  • The crazy wave technology featured in the E3 single-player demo is also coming to multiplayer. All the wave data is being pushed over the network, which means that every player will have the same sea experience at the same time.
  • Given the increased focus on naval combat, DICE is making sure you aren't a sitting duck if you lose your sea vessel or parachute into a body of water. Soldiers can now swim sprint, use sidearms in the water, hit the crounch button to dive underneath the surface of the water, and even deploy C4 to take out boats.
  • Players can rent their own Battlefield 4 servers on consoles from day one, and DICE plans to give them more server modifiers than were available in Battlefield 3.
  • DICE knows the destruction in BF3 was disappointing, so destructibility is coming back in a major way. Expect to see the microdestruction introduced in the Close Quarters map pack, plus large-scale destruction like the crumbling skyscraper in the E3 demo.
  • You won't be able to completely flatten urban areas, which is a design choice rather than a technical limitation.
  • Like Titanfall, DICE is using a proprietary matchmaking service instead of using the Xbox One native service.
  • DICE is also incorporating a skill level system on top of your player rank to help match you with players of a similar ability. You can set your rented server to only accept players of a certain ability.
  • DICE learned its lesson with Battlefield 3, and plans to keep a healthy amount of DICE sponsored servers for people who don't want to deal with the quirky rented servers.
  • Rather than build its own battle recorder, however, DICE plans to use the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 recorders.
  • Battlefield 4 also includes a spectator mode.
  • Given the difficult learning curve for some of the more powerful vehicles like jets and helicopters, DICE is including a practice mode or tutorial system of sorts so you can learn the tricks of the trade without hurting your team in a ranked match.
  • Battlelog is being revamped to be more directly integrated into the game and to give console players the same experience as the PC version. DICE wants the console players to have the ALT-TAB experience just like PC players, so you can check your stats at any time.
  • You can alter your loadout directly from the Battlelog app so it will be ready for you when you jump into a match.

That must of been tough being locked into a stroller and not being able to get your hands on a mouse or keyboard:roll:

Thats pretty big news. I'd maybe get it then to mess around with a few friends on there. But I can also imagine it putting a pretty big gap in the community.

If this happens, I can only imagine the amount people who are going to get called a hacker and kicked/banned from a server admin

They should just make the PS4, Xboxone and the PC cross platform. The rape would be epic.

If the PS4 allows KB/M and XB1 follows, I don't see any reason they couldn't think about it more. Only limitation would be that console players would still be limited to lower sized servers (but then those options would be more open to PC players, so many 64 players servers, not many smaller out there).

Nope, player size will not be an issue with PS4 or XB1. :toast:
