Building a new desktop:

-Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CML16GX3M2A1600C10)

-Corsair Hydro Series Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H80i

-Western Digital WD1002FAEX Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Internal Desktop 3.5" Hard Drive

-MSI Computer Corp. Video Graphics Card N770 LIGHTNING

-Asus Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-Ray Drive (BC-12B1ST)

-Asus Z87 PRO LGA 1150 Motherboard

-Corsair CX Series 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V 744 Power Supply CX750M

-Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ 6 MB Cache - BX80646I54670K

-Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case CC-9011023-WW

Some of my biggest concerns are if the power supply will hold up to the load? And if an i5 processor will work efficiently with the other components specially the GPU.

This is a computer meant for video editing / gaming / using heavy software specially rendering.

Thanks for any advice

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, my first post.

Maybe consider a 4770k. You might benefit from the extra threads.

750W is more than enough. Probably overkill for me, unless you plan on going SLI setup in the future. If not 650w will be plenty

the build looks good. Like already said, 750 watts is more than you need unless you plan on SLI as a future upgrade. If you don't for see SLI in the future, go for a 500-600 watt quality PSU like the Corsair CX series. Also, get the i7, your video editing and rendering software will benefit from the additional processing threads of the i7. Also, I'd recommend a motherboard change to the less expensive MSI Z87 GD65. Has all the same connections as the ASUS Pro board, but is about $30 cheaper. Plus the GD65 is breaking a lot of OC records right now so that speaks volumes for it's quality.

Very good performance wise. I couldn't fault it much.

If you're serious about rendering I would go with the FX 8 core personally or go straight to an i7 if your strongly AMD opposed.

Thanks for your help, will definitely go towards the i7 processor. It is possible that I might go for SLI in the future, so I will leave the 750 power supply just to be sure.
