I've had connection failed a couple of times - the second time I had it I was in the hangar and was still able to go play AC single player without issue.

Loving it in my hornet and 300i, although I just got back from a work trip to Orlando so am jetlagged to hell and get stuck around wave 6 - I did find myself turning into a Vanduul at one point when all my guns were gone on my hornet and decided ramming was a great idea - it was - until I killed all my top thrusters and lost engine power - drifted at full speed into the edge of the arena with nothing to do about it!

Hey guys kinda curious what's everybody's settings and frame rates at during vanduul swarm or in free flight?
That way we can kinda figure out how much power is need to currently run the AC.
low settings 1080p vandulls swarm usually around 15 to 25 fps, free flight mode 35-60 on Moon map.

I play on very high(max settings) and it's smooth so at least 30 fps lol.
I'll look tomorrow for exact fps.

I'm running my cpu only at stock turbo (3.3GHz)
GPU@ 900/1375

max cpu usage i saw was like 33% while recording

Seems like the A.I. uses up quite a bit of CPU power.

30+ fps at all times in all flight modes on very high - not sure how much above 30 as I don't have FRAPS enabled. CPU wise looking at ~45-50% usage in swarm. One of the developers said it is very CPU intensive - nice to be able to stretch my 4770k's legs for once.

edit

FRAPS is reporting 55+FPS in swarm mode with very high graphics (everything cranked up).

Something I need to try, it might give some extra punch:

Haven't seen this posted yet and it was bugging the heck out of me, so I spent a while figuring this out. Finally got a lock on it:

Once you hit f3 to select the PWR tab, num7 and num9 will be be the tools you will use to navigate to the power adjustment triangle.

Step 1: Pressing num7 will cause some part of your (left side) UI to blink. Press this until the triangle at the top is blinking. When I switch from the Overview (OVR) tab to the PWR tab it consistently takes fourpresses of num7 to make the triangle blink. Note: sometimes you will need to press num9 (the back button, it seems) a time or two before pressing num7; this is because for whatever reason a piece of the UI has already been 'selected' and therefore you need to back up in the process.

Step 2: Once the triangle is blinking, press num5. This selects the triangle.

Step 3: Use the arrow keys on your numpad (num-4,8,2,6) to move align the power how you'd like it. G1 is Weapons, G2 is Avionics, G3 is Shields.

Step 4: Press num9, or change to any other tab to lock in your selection.

Hope this helps- if I wasn't clear please reply and I'll try to clarify.

See you all in the 'verse!!

Edit: added num to all numpad numbers for clarity

I make it to 10 waves no problem in my base Aurora no problem. The only issue I have after wave 10 is I get slightly bored

I run the game on Very High settings with pretty much everything maxed out, save for the few edits I make to the config file to turn off ambient occlusion and a couple of other things. I also haven't forced Anti Aliasing through my control panel, I'll just wait for the advanced graphics tab to get programmed in. Editing the config for such things is simply too much effort.

Anyone got specific settings for their FOV? I set my vertical FOV to 59.

You will get no real AA as MSAA does not work in cryengine expect TXAA and FXAA support only.

Since CryEngine 3.5 it supports MSAA. They do plan on adding it to the game.

So, I've been setting up VoiceAttack... and it works!

When I say "eject", I eject. "Shields", I get shields. "Couple" toggles Decoupled mode off and on. You can check it out here: http://www.voiceattack.com/howto.aspx (run in admin mode so it works)

I tried pressing the Eject key and so far it's never done anything :D

You have to hit right alt and the eject key at the same time for it to work, so Right Alt + L and you will eject. I assume its a safety thing so you dont bump the key and shoot out.

I ended up losing weaps and thrusters all last night while banging around, and tried to eject. I sat in the seat vibrating for 5 seconds or so, and then it just went back to the cockpit view lol.

Whew, I really didn't think that the Mouse control flight would be too bad, but man what a pain in the butt. Looking forward to them refining the controls a bit. Still, had fun running around (once I figured out I had to put the helmet on first heheh), shooting and trying to shoot things :). My citizen number is 21815, so I don't expect to see the multiplayer module for a while, but that'll give me time to figure out which end is up, anyway :)

Im looking to see them refine actual flight a little more, just feels odd to me currently. Could be the controls though as Im using a mouse/kb combo.

I've seen a huge number of people complaining about flight controls for both KB&M and flight sticks being really flaky. I think it needs a bit more of the special brand of Polish polish. I think my 360 controller would be alright if I could just get the damn invert to turn off, because the flight actually feels slightly smooth even though I'm turning in the wrong directions.

They were running a deal on Amazon yesterday on the 360 controller, I think it's at $35 right now, but I figure that's just $35 I can save towards my Rhino later in the year, and I KNOW I'd replace it. I'm not a controller-type player anyway. for some reason, I can manage 50 different keys and hotkeys for something like WoW or Evochron, but put a controller in my hands, and I'm like "Whaa??? too many buttons!!!"

Yeah, I saw a post with a video of a guy doing it. It's pretty sweet.

I think Ill likely buy a controller and see how that goes.. I just feel like I would be better suited with that vs a joystick setup since I have never used one. The big issue is the shear amount of keybindings that will be in the final release.. you almost need something like what erocker mentioned

The only Org that I will be a joint member of is Dez Nutz. Other than that its not worth it.
