Since it's on 75% discount now on Steam I would like to buy GRID for 3,24 Euro.
Can someone confirm that it runs on Windows 8.1?

Thanks!

Works for me

It works for me too on the latest version of Win8.1

I wouldn't go by that site. The ones that voted no probably tried it when 8 first came out, and they don't likely have the staff to update the latest news. You're better off going to Codemasters forum on the GRID Games Technical board and ask staff or members if original GRID has any issues on W8. http://forums.codemasters.com/categories/grid-games-technical-assistance

My guess is worst case scenario you might have to use a compat mode.

Yes, it works. There's no reason why it shouldn't work either as it's a pretty modern game.

I already bought it yesterday. I will download it when I'm back home. Thanks for the replies guys!

I already told you it will run in the other thread.

Actually this was the first thread i asked this. But at first I did not get a reply. Since this was a Steam discount offer I asked it in the other thread.

Games for Windows Live or GameSpy

I forgot what title but I have either Grid or Dirt that I can't play because it's linked with dead GFWL and codemaster still doesn't fix it.
Also, I think I can't play Men of War online multiplayer because GameSpy is dead.

Sorry man, but I never play games online! :p Only playing offline, but thanks!
Just came home and downloaded/installed GRID, did not try it yet.

well grid 2 and up is pretty much online only career, the single player is just race after race with little to no change or upgrade etc.

Grid works fine and so does dirt 3 even though it uses GFWL, If you can't play it your doing something wrong.

thats funny i installed Dirt 3 and GTA 4 after GFWL died (both gfwl versions). and i can play them fine. if you cant play them then you arent installing them properly.

download the GFWL websetup and install GFWL first before running the game.
the fsetup that comes with the games are outdated.

I used to play GRID on Windows Vista on PC, but could not find the dvd anymore, now I have a Windows 8.1 laptop with Steam account and installed GRID from Steam now. Also Dirt looking nice games, but I don't have them at the moment. I never had any problems with running Codemasters games, they always run smooth even on my older PC at that time. When I installed GTA IV on my laptop, it was updating GTA IV and GFWL a few times when I started it, I have no problems running GTA IV.

Just played GRID and the first thing I noticed was that I could not select 1920x1080..
Did a search on the internet and had to change some value in a hardware settings XML file, done that and it runs fine now, I'm happy with it! :D

GFWL is not fully dead yet, I was reading about it the other day and microsoft are draging there heels when it comes to fully shutting GFWL down.

The other thing i have noticed is you need games for windows market place installed or the games do tend to have a hissy fit.

I was recently told by the Raptr forum admin that their new Game DVR's 20 min cache option is only capped to 720p in W7.
...done that and it runs fine now, I'm happy with it! :D
Yeah original GRID is still easily the best too. One thing they really messed up was the multi view replay, but even the cockpit view they added back in to Autoport sucks.

The tuning is better in GRID 1, the damage model is better, the racing is better. Just all around a better game.
