Must be a ram war too. Also I notice on Neweggs site and several others almost all the higher end OEM AMD chips are gone for AM2 all the 6000+ and 5600 etc.. So AMD just might make some cash back on volume in sales it appears their chips are flying off the shelves now. The price got so cheap I bought a 6000+. Some thing to remember most people don't overclock and really the AMD chips matchs up very well to the general consumer unless your going to spend 330.00+ on a e6700/ or 500+ on a e6800. Which if your a general consumer you won't you will buy a cheaper AMD 3600x2, 4000x2 or Intel e4300, e6300 etc. AMD has very good stock performance a 6000+ since it beats a e6400 and matches the e6600 especally if you own a AM2 board and don't overclock. Buying this chip was hard for me since I have a Brisbane at 3.0ghz but the 6000+ is physically different than all the other AM2 chips even the FX62/5600+ is totally different in the sense of voltage and stepping most ( I was told the 6000+ is based, believe it or not off the Toledo core but called a Windsor) FX62 / 5600+ are lucky to go much over 3.0 ghz . Where a 6000+ is know to hit from 3.2ghz to 3.5ghz. So I went for it and the OEM I bought I could have bought for the retail price now (less than one day later). At 3.4ghz thats a 16 percent increase in performance which will match even a e6700 at stock for a hundred dollars less (thats is until tomarrow when Intel cuts it's price LOL) (Okay maybe not match but come close to a E6700) nite all I will read the flames tomarrow.
