temp. on a video card?

around 80c is max i think but dont quote me lol my x1950 under load is about 62c

sorry for beeing off-topic , but i have a question

IS there any way to find out what temp does my card have?

I have ati x300 , and it does not having that sensiting diode wich measures the temperature though..

If i just posted a stupid question , just do not reply :)
Thanks :rockout:

What's the temp. of a video card where it gets to be too hot?

x1900 series can safely opperate at upwards of 90+ degrees C. If your getting that hot I suggest better cooling, if only for prolonging the cards life (and more overclock potential), otherwise i wouldnt worry unless ur getting screen artifacts or other glitches :toast:

I dont think mines ever been above 55c

As said, depends very much on the card/GPU, some can take more of a hammering than others, some dependant on fabrication process run naturally cooler, I suppose a general rule of thumb would be to try and keep the card below 80C at full load in the ideal world, if it gets significantly above that then it's either time to improve cooling or peg back on them overclocks!

In answer to the S_C_Wolf's question, if you have not got it already download ATi tool, under settings at the very bottom right of the interface you will see a drop down at the top for temperature monitoring, go to it, make sure the checkbox is enabled, minimize ATi tool and it goes to the sys tray and......voila, you have your GPU temps!! it works for NVidia cards also.

I think it should still work as I beleive ATi tool has more than one way to detect the temp.

that was before i got my accelero x2 lol now load is 50c

Yeah my card maxes on full load at 47C with significant overclocks but it's prob got one of the best silent heatpipe coolers out there and it comes on the GTO/GTX as stock :D
