this made me lol at work.

it seems match making has improved a bit. not sure if they pushed new server code or something. i am finally getting a bit better at ariels which i can see now makes a huge difference in the outcome of the game.

wow some games are infuriating. i may not be the best player but at least i understand the principle of teamwork. most games my teammates are bashing into me, choosing not to center the ball, or just completely abandoning the net.

Unfortunate, but that's the way the ranking system encourages somebody to play. Its all based on individual points per game, winning and losing is just a side thing now :/

ah, that is why!!!! i noticed since season 2 people have been playing way more aggressively. i guess i will stick with non-ranked. seems like the devs ruined the rank system.

I still play every day, nothing has changed for me except the fact they now allow Wasteland in comp which is annoying.

I'm not sure I like the new division ranking system. While it's nice to know where you are and not just a solid rank (IE CSGO), I feel like instead of the number system it gave people higher ranks than they should have maybe? I don't know. Like CS, there's no clear way to rank up that I can see - IE do MVPs count more, do scores, I assume you only can rank up on a win, but if you get matched with worse opponents does it count more, etc? I'm challenger elite in triples and doubles, solo standard I was but went down because my team is literally filled with idiots the whole time. I can score a lot but these people will be sitting 2 in goal and can't block a thing...or hit me out of the way and ball chase, etc.

I agree the new ranking system is not exactly what I hoped for, although it does promote individual skill more, but oddly enough fails to promote teamwork.

I stopped playing ranked modes after the last update and just play non-ranked.

It ranks you based on your score each game on an individual basis. If you don't consistently score high enough you will be dropped from your division.

You play your first 10 games and then they'll place you in a rank. After that, every game counts towards your rank. Each rank consists of five divisions. 1 is the lowest and 5 the highest. Once you get out of division five, you will go to the next rank up.

So once you hit prospect 5, you'll move up to whatever is next (bronze 1 maybe?) or possibly just skip over prospect 5 and move up?

Here are the rankings:

From what I gather, each ranking has five divisions, starts at 1 and goes to 5. So when you're ranking up from say, Prospect III (division 5), you'll end up as Prospect Elite (division 1)

Well, I'm prospect 2 after the qualifying 10 games. I'm guessing you get a rank per-gamemode, so I can't just play a bunch of solo standard and standard and rank up equally in both.

people who play with randoms will never advance in rankings because so many people play with friends and coordinate. kind of dumb to play ranked unless you have friends to play with.

the new mutators and maps are kinda novel. I'm a Rocket League purist. I like Standard 3v3 with stock maps except for the map that makes the train noise because I always seem to lose games

I stopped playing this game because of "kids who play this game for a living"

I enjoyed the game at first, but it got more competitive than fun for me.

I found myself playing screaming and clinching my controller extra hard as I hit the ball.... I was so into it lol!

But yeah, ill play a casual game here and there..... but for some reason I noticed when I play this game, my heart rate increases a fair amount lol.
