MS hasn't forced a Windows 10 upgrade on my laptops and I turned updates off on my gaming rig. I plan to build a gaming rig next year with Win 10 on it. Eventually Win 7 will be a dinosaur just like XP.

Still waiting for windows 11 or 12....:p

I will stay on windows 8.1 for now, stable, reliable, good drivers, no sudden suprises and I'm happy with it.:D

CAPS,

I'm in...:).

Funny thing is, if there wasn't this bullshit forced driver and OS updating through Windows Update and all the tracking and data mining nonsense, EVERYONE with Win7 or Win8.x would upgrade to Win10 asap. The fact people refuse tells a lot. But Microsoft still just doesn't get it...

But but... surely if all the allegations were correct about forced installs, tracking, malpractice etc our governments who are there to protect us and serve us would surely investigate such a big corporation as MS...... lmao as if, google paid 3m in back taxes of billions recently, I underpay by ÂŁ5 and they're straight on my back demanding it or else, gotta love big business. Both the same as the government it's a case of money talks and they will do what they like regardless...

I'm voting with my feet- unless I have a major change of heart in the next few days I'll be sticking with W7 until after the free upgrade ends.

Signed & shared on Farcebook.

While we're all at it, may as well start one for Google too.

On windows 10, microsoft will not allow remapping of keys to the xbox one controller unless you spend 150 on an elite controller, BS...

I feel like this should be in the general nonsense forum...

nothing wrong with that
remember, your car is still powered by dead dinosaur juice
:D

The U.S. Military Industrial Complex still runs on Windows XP PRO LTS & mucho ATM machines still use XP.

Aegis for Windows 7/8.x

I've been using Aegis for all of my Win 7 x64 installs, it's worked perfectly. Although, Paul Thurott in his recent rant recommended Steve Gibson's "Never 10" to his readers.

My problem is with change.org. I signed a petition there once that someone posted here, and it went fine. Then I started getting inundated with emails from change.org, and it took 3 or 4 unsubscribe attempts to finally get them to stop. Perhaps I missed a simple setting but gosh that was annoying.

Mil computers haven't been on XP for a few years now.......

Not once have I been forced to update anything! Running windows 8.1 on a tablet and running windows 10 on three computers.
If I thought Microsoft was so bad I would switch to Linux or Apple.

no offense, I want an investigation to happen, but change.org petitions (and internet petitions/clicktivism in general) never really accomplish anything if we're being honest.

Not sure what you're point is? Bill Gates has actually been highly critical of Microsoft lately.

Not the same thing. One is an incredibly complicated piece of software which likely is connected to a world-spanning network of computers while not getting the security updates it probably needs. The other is fuel for engines propelled by explosions. In fact, modern engines is to old engines exactly what Windows 10 is to Windows 1.0.
