It is discussion FFS. If you don't like to discuss some rumor nobody forces you read or reply. Just move along and get on with your noble life.

Plus, most sites love the increased amount of web traffic.
 
It is my right to say what I want and how I feel about said thread, much like everyone else. You don't have to like my opinion, just be respectful of it. Lot of immaturity polluting this thread is the reason I commented on it. However, I won't give the same courtesy to people spreading heresy about a product they know nothing about and saying it's legitimate (other than what AMD has confirmed about it). No educated/respected member on this forum (that I know of) starts a rumor just for the sake of starting one because of some new product about to debut without solid facts/sources to back their claims up.

Pricing doesn't seem to be far off announced, at least there is no "FE" crap.
XFX 8GB version is expected at 249$

That's the thing. Someone deliberately spreading targeted FUD and trying to trash a thread is a fact.

Point probably is you will see same thing you see on nvidia cards atm, Very limited stock plus ones you can buy will have a massive markup from gougers, probably 3-400$ price tag's.

Next time try to provide benchmarks with some merit behind them instead of ones that are 2 very different cpu's. the 87% one is a sandy bridge 4 core cpu vs 8 core haswell-e. Not what i would call remotely comparable to make performance claims for.

Sapphire Indonesia Facebook Page just answered a question about RX 480 price, they said that the price will set around IDR 4 ,000K (they said that it's possibly lower), so that's very close to $300 ($1 = IDR 13,300).
Unfortunately no mention about card version (reference or custom cooling) and VRAM amount.

On another note, cheapest GTX 1070 FE price here is $563 and cheapest GTX 980 is $509.

249$ for OCed 8Gb version of RX 480. How faris that from announced 229-239$-ish for 8Gb? 10$ for mild OC? Yay.


The only thing that isn't clear yet, is whether this is driven by poor TSMC 16nm yields due to rushing to beat AMD to the market, or sheer nGreed. Keeping in mind how roally had Mr Huang frucked up most of its partners, it could well be the latter.
