Post your Hardware's manufacturer preference.

One thing I always consider is; who do I want to deal with if I have to RMA a part?
This scenario eliminates ASUS no matter how good the quality of their builds because the CS is awful.

I agree with you about the RMA thing, I
don't Know where you live but at least here in Germany those problems doesn't exist, i have seen that people who always has problems with Asus's hardwares are from America.

Are they that bad? Or is the slap because I never had one?
They can't be that bad, i use many Asus's Hardwares and never have had any kind of problem with it.

What what I've heard from friends in Germany is that the consumer protection laws are much better than in the US, particularly when it comes to warranties.
My RMA experience with ASUS was something I never wish to repeat again.

The comment was about SSDs, not ASUS ;)

My wallet usually opens up to whatever is the best, or most appealing value with a few exceptions

White list, I almost always check out their wares first before considering others:

Black list, I avoid like the plague and wouldn't accept one of their products if they tried to give me one:

GPU: XFX, HIS

1 - Ram - All my ram is kingston valueram cause I was cheapass (my builds are from before I started working)

3 - CPU - Intel

4 - Graphic Card - Asus (and always Nvidia). I went for cheaper MSI GTX970 and did regret it.

6 - Keyboard - Logitech, but now I switched to mechanical and not much is available for my layout, so I bought corsair

7 - Mouse - Logitech

8 - Monitor - no preference

9 - PSU - seasonic (will use one in next build)

Why should i buy and AMD cpu?
I don't know, because I said you should buy whatever is best at the time and sold at right price. Quite honestly I don't think AMD CPU product range fits that description at the moment for most of the people.

What was wrong with it?
I know the crippled vram issue, but every 970 had that.

Yep, I've owned 2 MSI 970's, one an LE, and one the 100ME. Both have superb quality, excellent cooling, great overclocking ability, and quiet.

i had Patriot Viper DDR3 intel masters edition, 1866 DDR3, was in need of some money and i sold them and swithced to my old Kingston Value Ram, minimal difference on everything... also for normal tasks its almost nothing different...

You have two options:

1 - Intel = quality

2 - AMD = price

That's why I have chosen Intel as my favourite CPU manufacturer.

come on ....:slap:
1. Intel= Performance, Quality, Lower TDP, nice clocks, also great Overclocks....

2. AMD= High comsumption, pretty old sockes, fab process and also coolers... lower performance and also prices, cheap as hell....

What I was trying to say is that Intel has better quality and AMD has lower prices:nutkick:

I know the crippled vram issue, but every 970 had that.

Have one of the first batch with fan issues. When they go silent (0%) and have to start up again, one fan goes to 100% and one fan is stuck until cold boot or a manual push of the stuck one. I fixed it with a custom fan curve (always min 30%), I was too lazy to send it back to the shop as I bought it abroad.

Regards,

No, I didn't overclock, 1333MHz CL9. Doesn't matter that much and I will get some fancy new RAM with my next build at the end of the year :)
