I wanted to report this to 3DMark, but the system refuses to accept my bug report, so I'm hoping someone from Futuremark is floating around these parts...

Now, I know my overclocks can go to very limits, but something isn't right with the stress test in latest 3DMark.

I tweak the graphic card, stress it with Extreme stress test, I sit there watch it go through all 20 loops and the end result is 0% frame consistency and 1 completed loop. Now, wait a minute, it just finished all 20 of them and it looked perfectly smooth. And yet framerate was apparently so bad it scored 0% and only 1 completed loop even though it completed 20 of them? That can't be right?

I've seen it do this when driver restarts and I understand why it might confuse the app, but this wasn't the case now. The driver didn't reset. I double checked with the Event Viewer.

What is going on here?

Something interrupted the test when it does that, normally, but I tried running it today and got the same thing.

@FM_Jarnis ??

My cards wouldn't pass before, but I'd get like 89-92% before the most recent update. Using Steam version.

There was an update recently? Well, that would explain a lot. Because before, I was getting 98-99% framerate consistency with very aggressive overclocks. But now it was showing this 0% 1 loop even with basically stock clocks.

Not running the stress test, but on a benchmark run of Firestrike yesterday I got the same thing. It listed it as a Valid Score...at 0%. For giggles, I did a Skydiver run too, same result. Went back to Firestrike. Finally got a real result! Tried Skydiver again. Problem exists there still.

Based on my experiences and what I have seen here, my guess is this is some kind of random error floating through 3D Mark

Yeah, the regular benchmark also failed validation for some reason even though I'm still using same drivers that passed it before.

i just ran it and got the same thing.. 0% and one loop..

the last time i ran it some time back it gave me a 100% pass..

trog

I've seen passed tests and still only one loop, so there is obviously a bug.

I think anything below 97% will be considered failure of stability. Not 100% sure though.

With a stock GTX 980 even? Also why would you show 1 loop if it actually completes 20 of them? And why 0% if it could say 55% ?

@RejZoR 3DMark on steam has been soo buggy that I couldn't even start it until I downloaded and installed it here from TPU but the last couple of updates actually fixed that, even I have saved my key for 3DMark so I can install it not from steam

Yeah, I'm using a Steam version. So, normal version is fine, but Steam one is bugged?

Well lately the steam version can atleast start and run now, when i purchased it like 3months ago on sale for like €5 or so I wouldn't even start the steam version it just crashed no matter if i ran normal, forced 32 or 64bit then I could install the normal version and it ran now after the last couple of updates on steam it works fine.

The normal version I had installed on my C drive default location and steam on my SSD i use for gaming.

I tried downloadable and installed version last night just to see if it was the Steam version. It installed an update and I thought "maybe that is what is missing on Steam!"

Nah. It was still 0%. I'm wondering if it's a W10 and 3D-Mark thing? It's the last thing I can think of other than they just completely screwed their program on an update.

i have updated 3dmark but not the systeminfo. advanced edition
cannot find the stress test?

I think Stress Test is only available in paid version, not in free one.

"Update queued" :D

Yeah it's been updated today.

Cool. I'm not in the mood to test right now, I want to kill some Zeds in KF2, but I'll check the quality of my OC tomorrow.

i recon its still buggy.. i just tried running it again.. it did a full re-download from steam before starting.. i ran the stress test on the extreme setting.. each loop seems to take 28 seconds or just over.. after half an hour or so (i never counted the loops but at roughly two a minute i would guess at least 60 got run) i got tired of waiting for it to finish and stopped it..

it said 0% pass and one loop.. he he

trog

ps.. when i ran it yesterday it seemed to do the 20 loops and then stop but came up with the nonsense result.. today it just seems to keep going forever.. something has changed but nothing that makes any sense.. he he

mine is the paid for steam version and it used to work when it first came out.. now it dosnt seem to..

I tried it and it works again. Got almost 99% (98.9 I think) with my current overclock.

It's always 20 loops, around 28-30 seconds each, meaning whole test takes around 10 minutes regardless of the selected test. It just generates less frames on Extreme and 4K tests, but finishes each loop in same timeframe.

Anyone purchased the upgrade to fully unlock the "Time Spy" DLC or Add-in or what u will call for 3DMark? ^^

I did. I have no time for that demo more than once.

hehe, well I also did but my steam version is stuck at the installation in the 3DMark Advanced Edition application :(
