XFX Radeon RX 480 Double Dissipation Pictured

Does the DVI carry analog signal? Would be pretty dumb not to (some other AIB's don't) as some people still use DVI to to D-SUB/VGA adapters.

None of the current-gen AMD or NVIDIA cards support DVI-A, and in fact AMD card's haven't for a few generations. If you're still using VGA, f'in upgrade; it's 2016 already and VGA is long past its death date. Hell, even DVI-D is dead, but that at least provides a signal that doesn't make your eyes bleed.

so double fans is something so new (not really)... that almost all custom RX 480 with two fans have a bold "double" or "dual" in their name... ah PR at its "finest"... I guess there will not be a real double rx480 then :'(

In this case tho, Double Dissipation comes from the extra big heatsink. It's dual-layered I believe.

more like "Double Disappointment" :'( I still want my 2x rx480

GTX1060/1070 @ 1080p
If your paying over $300 in 2016-2017 and basically only holding to 1080p you're really throwing good money after bad. The one exception is if you went with 1080p G-Sync 144Hz and need to get it into the higher FPS. Then yes the 1060 is made for you, and if not rocking a well OC 970 on up the 1060 is meant for you.

That blue strip on the VRM thermal pad, shouldn`t it be removed before installing it ?
I'm glad someone else see's that and questioning it because it says "Remove Liner" right on it? Appears the manufacture of the thermal foam is ZIITEK, need to look on their site to figure it out.

Good cooler design. It's compact and cleverly designed with easily removable fans. That's really nice and something one would expect on a 500+ dollar graphic card...

love those fan mountings!!!!! make cleaning so much easier.. this card looks good but i want to see the price.

how much do you think this will go for? 280? 300? maybe?
ps. why dont all manufacturers use the fan mounting design? its so good for maintaining the card in a proper working order.

Sapphire also has Quick-connect/release fans that are not only for easy cleaning but part of their new RMA process should a fan break.
Instead of shipping them the entire card for repair, they simply send you the fan.

Hoping that these custom cards don't cost more than $300, otherwise the value won't be worth it when the 1060 comes out.

Dont people realise the XFX cards in general are hardware protected at the slightest voltage increase?

How ever over the last few years Double Dissipation as XFX calls it normally carry a lifetime warranty so no not always like others.

How ever they might of dropped the lifetime warranty for those to now, i guess we will have to wait until their site gets updated to be 100% if they going keep that trend with the DD.

That's nice but i do have too add that the XFX guy at these forums has sent me a few fans for mine complete with coolers to boot even a updated cooler (390).

Only you could swing that kind of pull.
The rest of us scrubs would have make do, or buy a Sapphire Nitro.

I like the heatsink looks beefy.

I hope they remember to pull the protective plastic off the thermal pads on the retail version

huh ?, i know a plastic they use to protect the card from the heat plate which have holes cut out for the chips and so forth.

RX480 eats more juice than GTX1070 while delivering 30% less performance. I don't see how it's gonna compete with GTX1060 in any way other than the price.
not just fps matter dude.

FPS, power consumption, heat.

Minor texture streaming issues in a relatively new game can be addressed with a driver patch, which I imagine Nvidia will do.

The VRM thermal pad still has the protective plastic on it in that picture, it clearly says REMOVE yet it looks like it was assembled like that anyway judging by the deformation of the pad.
