Hi,
I have a gigabyte GA-H61M-S motherboard.
I download a compressed window 7 iso image and tried booting it to repair my window 7 which is stuck at black screen with nothing except mouse working.

So, with power iso i made my sandisk cruiser 8gb pendrive bootable.
When i tried flashing this pendrive, nothing happened except, a flashning under score.

Then i downloaded kespersky rescue disk 10 and with kaspersky usb software, i installed that iso onto my friend's sony 4gb pendrive.

Note: The kespersky antivirus and usb burner weren't recoginising my sandisk pendrive despite the fact that i formated it.

Now with the 4gb sony kespersky rescue usb, i tried booting it on my mobo but no use. This time i didnt even get the flashing underscore, instead i got the error, please insert a bootable device and then press a key.

What am i doing wrong ??! I tried changing almost all options related to booting but nothing worked !

Please help

PS when in the boot menu, there a 2 usbs, one simply sony... and the other 'UEFI: sony...'.

di you already activated boot from usb device con that motherboard bios? not all motherboard will have the option as default, you have to manually select it ....

Regards,

Another thing guys, ever time i formated the above usbs(sandisk and sony) it was in acordance to the instructions.

I dont remember the format of sandisk usb but the sony containing kespersky resuce disk is FAT32

USB legecy is on and by pressing F12, i get the option which device to boot, ive tried both the usb options listed there(simple and uefi one) nothing works

press F2 and get to bios, check everything in the uefi bios...

Try Rufus instead of Power ISO.
I find it simpler to work with.

I've had two Gigabyte boards in my 2 recent PCs and they've both automatically booted from USB without any interaction from me.

I believe you have formatted the USB-key wrong. You can try to follow this walkthrough, https://www.thomas-krenn.com/en/wiki/Creating_Windows_UEFI_Boot-Stick_in_Windows Note: it has to be formatted to FAT32 for UEFI BIOS. dont use NTFS
Will try this, I was currently read that article only.

But why didnt the kespersky rescue USB work ?, it was Fat32.
But I definitely will try the method listed in that article and will then use the official kespersky tool for making rescue disk and try again.

Tried doing everything to ueif, didn't work.

I used power iso as the window 7 iso I was using was previous compressed and Rufus doesn't support compressed.

I know right, when I built this PC, I didn't buy an optical drive and used a pendrive to install win7

reset bios to default and ,..
Disable secure boot and ,..
enable csm with uefi and legacy bios

The word 'csm' doesnt exist anywhere in my bios.
As far as secure boot is concerned, its disable and there's no way i can select it. It is there but i cant select it.

My bios only has Legacy and UEFI options, wait If i select Win 8 as my OS then the Csm option appears and even i can change secure boot, but it disappers as soon as i select other Os instead of win 8.

First try to remove your videocard ? and use the intel gpu / port on your mobo , boot in safemode by pressing F8 during boot , remove all extra hardware drivers in hardware manager

with removed hardware and in safe mode you should have a some display output an recover firstly your data to usb

Fresh install ? use suggested Rufus an do NOT quick format the drive use fat 32 and official win7 iso !! why not upgrade to 10 ? just a few day left !

hope this helps ;-)

Do the Bios recognize you USB disk? as far as I learn some newer model USB disk with USB 3.0 cant be boot as a bootble device...but the usb2.0 can

Guys, thanks a lot for your help
I borrowed my friends laptop and successfully created a bootable kespersky rescue USB.

I booted it and found that my PC was infected, I cleaned my PC but again....(I think I should create a new thread for it)

Thanks again

no still here....
Already created one, have a look, if you feel there's no need for a new one I'll copy it over here and delete that one
