At TechPowerUp we are currently looking for one additional news editor to strengthen our ranks. This is a paid, part-time, remote position. You will be publishing news stories and press releases on our frontpage under minimal supervision.

As candidate you should bring a drive to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the tech industry, and a passion to write. Your written English should be excellent; non-native writers are welcome. Some basic image editing skills are required.

If you are interested, send the following to w1zzard@techpowerup.com:
  • Some personal info. Who? Where? Age? A bullet list will do.
  • Pick any recent hardware news topic, write your own news story about it. Length should be similar to TPU news posts (between 150 to 200 words).
  • Write a second story, an opinion piece on a different hardware news topic of your choosing. 200 to 250 words.

Please proofread your submissions properly.

might i ask when is the deadline for the position?

Ah, this takes me back to the days when I used to write TPU articles. I loved interacting with the great TPU community under each story, too. :)

@W1zzard I'm tempted, but I'm not sure how much time I could give to this at the moment. Could I write as much or as little as I wanted, or is a certain output expected?

thats why there were 0 articles or press releases for monday and tuesday?

Would be a good way to get more involved into tech, but I'm not sure my English skills are quite up to the mark...

You mean when a certain few individuals made it clear they wanted you burned at the stake.

There are always some hateful muppets who have nothing better to do and the smartasses that like to bring that up here. If they want to make fools of themselves in public I'm fine with that. Thankfully the vast majority of the members are decent and it's those that I'm referring to.

Does that clarify it for you now?

I think there should be a vote.

1. qubit
2. qubit
3. qubit

Awesome opportunity for someone! TechPowerUp is one of the world's most respected publications and I swear by it :)

Good luck to everyone!

I would apply but I am not sure my Scottish language skills are moderated enough to not fuck it up. Whoops - see, there I go right there. It's portrayed well in this clip:

Well... ?

Most TPU and NPU staff work part time and have other jobs.

I look forward to whomever joins the team of ace people.

Heeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy man. Wassup? :D

(for those of you who don't know, I thoroughly hated qubits news and I was unnecessarily vocal and rude about it, and yet I feel good about it)

Anyway, how much time would this take?

for the benefit of all those who have frick on ignore, heres what he just said

I may be game... I even worked for a college newspaper once. I will need time to get home before I write naturally, because cellphone journalism is a BAD idea. Will have a submission this evening PST if you can wait.

If he has to ask that then don't think the gig is for you
Ps the Answer i expect is
As long as it takes to do a decent job no half ass efforts are good enough for TPU

Ps if i have offended your feelings
you can put me on ignore like you boast quite a few members are

I'll Still Read your Posts and maybe Articles if your lucky enough to get the gig

I would love to help. But I'm dyslexic, grammar and spelling suck

I see you've added this. Agreed, I can't stand typos. They may be more or less acceptable in a forum post, but not in a professional piece of work, including a news article. I'm proud to say that mine had virtually nil, especially as I'd go and fix them afterwards if any got through before I published them.

Ok, a bit off topic, but since I got my Kindle Voyage a year ago, I've got back to reading novels (mainly Sci-Fi and crime) and the amount of typos that I see there make me cringe. A lot of them will annoy me greatly and spoil the flow of the story, so I'll downrate a book a star or two for them.

I've noticed that the offenders tend to be mainly newer authors, while the established masters such as Asimov have none or almost none - and they didn't even have the benefit of modern computer technology to make finding them so easy. Just means that those modern authors are just sloppy, even if it's a good story.

I'ld really like to see someone that can post on the weekends.

Sent a submission :)

Hope we didn't loose Bt.

I still remember reading some of your stories. They were always interesting and enjoyable.
