AMD today released Radeon Software Crimson ReLive 17.4.4, its fourth release for April. These drivers come with optimization for "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III," with up to 7 percent performance improvement seen on a machine powered by a Radeon RX 580. It also fixes display corruption seen on some machines with HDMI scaling, incorrect HDR colors on "Mass Effect: Andromeda," DirectX 11 mode stuttering on CrossFire machines in "Battlefield 1," a hang noted on Radeon RX 550 machines that haven't been rebooted for a long time, and some UI improvements with Radeon Settings. The drivers also add a curious looking shortcut to your desktop (check out the image below). Grab the driver from the link below.

Edit: In case you are wondering where that Quake Champions Beta shortcut on your desktop comes from, AMD's 17.4.4 driver installation stealth-adds that to your desktop, with a bit.ly tracking link, instead of directly to the official page. Looks like AMD is making some $$ from it, a referral id is included in the final URL destination, too.

Seems to add support for Warhammer40000. It also fixed a whole bunch of issues that very few people cares probably.

Somehow after install I got this:

Your CPU is loaded 100% and GPU is idling - you either didn't install the drivers properly or your CPU is way too slow. The latter cannot be saved by any driver, buy new CPU. To solve first: download full installer from official website, do clean install and make sure everything is ticked here:

Ryzen 1500X 219.00 € is to expensive plus motherboard 100-200 € and memory 100 €

That's pretty fucking heinous.

"Loving" the disingenuous way of making monies!

I got in the beta like two weeks back, i even got a Code... but for some weird reason i cannot login or register into Bethesda.net. I already have an account there, but everytime i click on Login the page keeps loading forever. I even tried on 3 different PC´s in my same network, and nothing works.

Before this driver would install, it updated the installer. Anyone else notice AMD's new installer is extremely slow?

GPU-Z recognizes it as 17.4.4, but BF1 sp seems a lot choppier in some places than when I ran through my previous play through on 17.4.2.

I'm not saying it's good but calling a shortcut that you can drag and drop in the trash in one second "heinous" is a gross over exaggeration. Does Nvidia's data collection service get a pass?

No it's not. Putting ads in the progress creen during driver updates is annoying enough, but it's fairly inoffensive. Putting a referral shortcut on your desktop during a driver installation is exactly fucking heinous. Especially since the data collection you're talking about is only if you use GeForce Experience, not by installing the driver in and of itself.

It's sickening how people like you try to defend this behavior by saying, "But what about company X?!"

No, it's horrible behavior no matter who does it and by saying it's okay because another company is also despicable, you may as well be the piece of crap who made the decision in the first place! Stop lowering the standards for everyone and admit it's terrible what they are doing, and anyone else who does it too.

If everyone thought like you we'd have virus ridden PCs full of ads, spyware tracking your every move, selling personal data. Oh wait, that's exactly what we have now. Thanks for your complacency jerk.

This icon is a stupid move, I agree, but:
- it appears it doesn't install for everyone - I didn't get it (non-whql-win7-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-relive-17.4.4-apr26.exe)
- it's not a process and it's harmless until you click it

NVIDIA moved the telemetry to the driver and now it's on by default for everyone. There's an obscure menu option with a tickbox to opt out of the telemetry, but it's only a matter of time before it is forced and cannot be disabled.

Even after clicking it, it's still harmless.

this is nothing compared to having to login to get a damn driver from nvidia, also there is microsoft and onedrive that does the even worse shit, i dont want onedrive, but why does it still ask me to login :/

yeah and many programs will add a link to something, lavfilters adds a link to doom9 forums to startmenu..

a fcking icon shortcut on desktop is no fcking adware... either
adware will show you ads every time you click on something, thats NOT what this is, this is a harmless icon shortcut url lol

lmao, loving the cognitive dissonance when it comes to defending a shitty thing that AMD did. Fantastic. Keep it up guys.

And when it wil be posible to test this game whit vulkan on Serious Sam Fusion 2017 it works worse than dx11

I tried installing the 17.4.3 driver, since it's listed as WHQL, but it shows as 17.4.4 in the install screen, and CPU-Z verified it as 17.4.4.

Anyone have a link to the actual 17.4.3 driver that installs and is verified afterward as 17.4.3? Really sick of these AMD hijinks.
