He has an enermax 600 watt in his specs, maybe that blew up on his current rig and he just got lazy and never changed it? If an Enermax 600W blew up running that rig, there's atleast a 50/50 chance that it was running at it's max or close to it and fried it.

Connection to 550 Watt (750 for CrossFire) or greater power supply with two 2x3-pin PCIe power connectors is required.
For enhanced performance with ATI Overdrive, a power supply with one 2x3-pin and one 2x4-pin PCIe power connector is required
Certified power supplies are strongly recommended
This quote from newegg coming from ATi themselves states that it requires a minimum of a
550-watt power supply, a 450 watt would be considerably overstressed, and this guy is running a C2D at 3.5GHz, an overvolt is garunteed. That probably won't even turn on, and if it does, it would probably blow up, taking other parts out with it within one minute of going into 3D mode...
That's why I suggest at least a 700-watt power supply running a system like that, espically with that overclock.

If you're buying a monster like a 2900XT,
don't cheap out on the powerr supply.
To strenghten my arguement, these requirements from Diamond state:

Edit: these were both 512MB DDR3 versions.
