i dont think it makes it "faster" i think it uses the power of /Your GPU to render Video.....generally people either switch it off or on for compatibility reasons. for example, Youtube playback was buggy until i turned off HW acceleration.

I have turned off hardware acceleration in all my browsers and most used apps where possible.
CPU's nowadays don't have any problem with it.

I have reinstalled Chrome and used its default setting (Hardware Optimization On). My chrome gets black screen when opening it again for 1-2 seconds when i use bluestacks.

Probably this is a memory and gpu issue, bluestacks uses lots of ram. And I only have intel hd graphics, so chrome and bluestacks are using it the same time.

Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

I don't know anything about "bluestacks" but I do know that I see an AMD rig in your system specs, and you are talking about intel graphics?

Bluestacks is an Android Emulator, I play Lineage 2 Revolution in there.

Oh, I already updated my rig. I sold the old parts and bought new ones and recycled some. Hehehehe

Well a intel igpu isn't that good for gaming as you may know so that might be your problem.

try an older chrome version. I had no issues with chrome and bluestacks when I i was using it a year or so ago. Hardware acceleration is off always for me on browsers.

Kinda, before when I open chrome from the task bar it will be black. So far, I don't experience it.

If you have hardware acceleration on, the GPU will be used and that seems to me drawing more power than if you let the CPU do it. No?

Just test it with on and off.

In your case, you aren't using a dedicated GPU but the iGPU.
Power consumption may not matter in your case regardless of this setting.

I have to save up to buy a GPU. But since I am using an iGPU, I think it will stress out the iGPU since it shared the RAM and also it shares Chrome with Games. Am I right?

Tried multiple times with Hardware Acceleration Off - No black screen. I recently encountered this on the new Chrome versions.

I heard lately of a new Android emulator that supposed to be faster than Bluestacks. MEmu, maybe you'll find it useful.

Anyhow, hardware acceleration off isn't a big deal - if it interferes with your system - you're not losing that much.

Hardware accel in any browser tends to be buggy, the best fix is to turn it off permenently, besides todays cpus can handle videos and flash content just fine without hw accel...

CPU's nowadays don't have any problem with it.

Actually they do , 4K playback from YouTube pegs the CPU close to 100%.

Maybe your CPU.

I am seeing 10-20% across 10c/t, no cores are close to maxed. Two are spiking up and down, one about 50-75%. The others are being tickled.

That said, its sucking down like 40 Gbps though!

EDIT: Clearly more CPU use is to be found on lesser CPUs with fewer cores and slower IPC than mine. I wonder what a 7700K would do compared to the older and woefully slower FX stuff...
