Only if it's behind a "Show more" list expansion trigger, as an option, imo.
Because there's a really high risk of this feature becoming a huge e-peen contest...

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
Because there's a really high risk of this feature becoming a huge e-peen contest...
uh?`... laughable

btw ... then Benchmark should also be behind a "show more" (except mine ... my benchmark result is awesome :p ) ... e-peen contest over RGB and stuff rather than benchmark? seriously  (or anything in the "GPU-CPU-RAM-Monitor" etc etc etc... cattegory )

yep sys specs need a bit more categories (regrouping fan/heatsink or all the cooling gear and stuff under "cooling" is a bit a limitation for those with multiple config, but not a big issue compared to have a "miscellanous" cattegory added. )
on the other hand .... the older layout was a tad better .... but the new one isn't bad either

I would also like a chair option.. you can tell a lot about a person by the chair.
also rather than a dropdown element go full-on windows 8 metro but with multi monitor span but the tiles where auto uploaded pictures of the hardware and when you move your cursor over them it shows the clockspeed and your lengthy essay on why you and your hardwae are unique and everybody else is wrong it should have a smartphone app with realtime updates so people can display every last detail of every system that they have ever encountered.
Then we can know the full extent of members ultimate technical prowess.
xenforo NEEDS an AIda64 snap in.

hey cool.. i just turned mine off

I wish I had a "Show more" for the whole of your system specs list. Never understood the ideia why list 2nd, 3rd, wife's, son's, dog's system in the list.

Anyway, last thing I want is to have a mild curiosity over some's sys spec only to be slapped in the eyes by a huge e-schlong while making me feel like a perv for lookign at it.

In all seriousness, taking more than a few seconds to check specs in order to help someone beats having said person's personal taste in aesthetics/gadgetry getting in the way.

the system spec is a "show more" in itself, you have to click on it eh? having a show more in a show more would be .... redundant? (to be polite) .... e-peen contestant tend to put it in "sig" ;) (joke)

i saw once a sys spec listed directly under the avatar and personal details

also "e-peen" term is ridiculous .... some people are just enthusiast that love to put up what they have, not for personal fame/recognition, but just for it ... (ok ... those who put the highest priced hardware, which is already ridiculous from base, under your nose and brag about it are indeed annoying .... after all even my rig is better than their  i assembled it with love  )

also the gadgetry (even aesthetics ) can be the source of the problem sometime .... sooo yep that would be something good to be shown :p (what? listing 1 NZXT GRID+, 2 Tt RiiNG, 3 ML140 white and 1 ML120 white would be a "d!ck contest"?)

[joke]edit, can you hide your Asus Xonar DX behind a "show more" i feel diminished, i had not enough $$$ to get a add on soundcard[/joke]

why is it bad to show ur secondary rig in system specs? no one is asking you to click on them. As for the E-peen thing, i dont get ur point. Just because you look at someones specs doesnt mean there is a need to compare rigs, etc. I think you are thinking too hard on that issue

I don't understand why you're taking jabs at me. Makes you look completely oblivious and it's obvious you are only defending your point of view, disregarding what other may said (I'm stating the obvious), because like I wrote, one just needs to check your system specs list. :)
I can vouch for what you want to cling on and yes, do hide extra stuff from my listed system which isn't a critical component. So, sound card/speakers, screen, keyboard, mouse, chassis can be hidden and I won't bat an eye.

There's a concept you both seem to be missing, which is visual clutter. "System Specs" in itself is akin to it and is up to forum members to use it as they please, but be aware that others will react to it in a way that can influence the course of a thread. This is nothing new.
I am, for one, not comparing anything, but am interested in a feature suggestion to actually become something useful, instead of it just being another "thing" here.

If discussion drags on, the point of it becomes moot, since W1zzard can just slap a poll or decide by his own if it's worth the hassle or something actually needed.

It's been this way for years and you are definitely in a minority in your thinking. I think it's fine the way it is, but the only thoughts that matter are @W1zzard :)

That is true and I've seen the best and worse examples from its use, over the time I've been here.
Hence, adding another field to fill in info, to what should be a concise way to display your setup, has no concern from me except when I'm trying to help someone.
My reply from the start was just a pair of cents.

Benchmark Scores Updates coming soon ®
To me the real "e-peen" section of the specs list is the benchmark box. But if an accessories box was added and it's on the bottom does that really add so much clutter that the whole specs page is useless?

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
So, sound card/speakers, screen, keyboard, mouse, chassis can be hidden and I won't bat an eye.
nope i am not taking jab at you (don't victimize pretty please ;) the joke about the Xonar was a joke ), i am only pointing the fact that the system specs is already a "show more" :p having to hide things behind a "show more" in a "show more" is literally over excessive, isn't it? oh and the "e-peen contestant usually put it in sig" was not aimed at you .... (tho if it's not in sys specs but in signature .... it's not behind a "show more" ;) )

also listing multiple rig is not a bad idea ... because if once i have an issue with anything else than the main rig ... i don't have to list it in the initial post of the thread, but i agree the clutter is real, even if each rig component is separated by a "/" (IT WASN'T that real with the old layout .... but the forum looks better ... so... clutter it is  )

*look at Hockster's benchmark section* ARGH, you're one of these contestant? nooooooooooooo!

you've clearly never heard of my 140mm Beasts AKA......the Fanliest Fans in all of Fanliniansville!:pimp:.
they're FANtastic
nice one ... i'm FAN of it :toast:

I'm not trying to victimize, just pointing out what I realized by your tone of writing (and BBCodes trying to pass the message limp in effect, in that regard). If I got that wrong, I'll try to understand better next time.
Anyway, it is a "show more" in a sense of "quick glance", as I view it. It stops being so, the moment a forum member types a metric tonne of text.
If I need/want detail, I'll ask for/show it in a thread, or PM. Makes sense to me, although I already understood you consider the opposite to be more efficient. Point made.

Examples of hidden content in what already is a sub-menu, isn't something new and is used widely in visually intense interfaces, like a forum is, hence why I suggested it. That's all.
