OFFICIAL Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Discussion)

Let me just say that the game has changed so much since the last time I played (early part of 2017) and it is quite something now. I only played about an hour so far but its shocking everything that has been added since I last played. In my short time with the release version I have not experienced any bugs but I plan to spend a lot more time with this in the next handful of days and will report back.

Most people complain about the save system but to me it just adds a bit of realism. The game does auto-save during key moments. For those that are really not liking the save feature in this game; go to the steam community and there is a mod for solving this issue. No potion needed to save. Might be helpful to some.

I've also read that you can sleep to save the game, so the save potion is not completely needed either.

Indeed, but if you do not own the bed you have to rent it from an Inn. So you still have to pay to save.

It would be cool if they offered a bed roll or cloak that as long as you make a fire you can sleep near it. That would be even more realistic.

I am really interested in this game, but I am afraid that my machine may not run it.

It needs a better tutorial for combat and maybe the default controls needs to be adjusted. Anyone got any suggestions?

I like the game so far but wouldnt recommend it at its current $60 price.

The frame rate is all over the place but the game still feels really smooth.

The game seems to run pretty fine for me so far. I'm playing with ultra settings but in windowed mode. In windowed mode it is running at 2k. I'm afraid to try 4k. In the village I seem to be around 55-60 fps with vsinc enabled. That is just walking around and talking to people in the village. Once I hit combat or out in the countryside I might then see this big fps hit that people are mentioning.

I will play it in a year after countless patches and polishing are inevitably coming, and for $10 shall enjoy a glorious game... sigh.. modernity has ruined me.
This is actually what I do nowadays, the only game I bought at release recently(and was hyped about ) was actually 2 years ago with Stellaris: which is now going for a whole new super big update + expansion this late feb, and I will play it again. fortunately there's endless replay potential unlike story-based games like Kingdom Come. so with Kingdom Come it's better to wait until fixes and mods come out., because you have one chance to 'experience' the story for the first time, so it better be good. and of course cheaper prices. Recent singleplayer games I played were bought super cheap at sales and were 1-3 years old. Rise of the Tomb Raider, Mad Max, Ryse Son of Rome, etc.

But I'll wait and see. if the fixes come sooner, maybe I'll get it even at it's current price

Can you advise if you've encounter any specific bugs or issues this far? Any advice on the gameplay would be appreciated as well :)
Gameplay is great and extremely immersive. Encountered some minor/cosmetic bugs, nothing serious

It needs a better tutorial for combat
How far into the game are you? There will be tutorials

save potion
Super annoying mechanic, I just used the patch to enable always save without requiring a potion

Just a hint, don't punch a horse in the face, otherwise there will be trouble lol :D Some streamer punched a horse in the face by mistake, guards chased him and since he didn't have money to pay the fine he was locked up in jail where he died in a fire lol.

I put in nearly three hours last night. This game is truly a story tellers delight. At least for me anyways. It is so far quite fun. Combat is very challenging but I'm doing better now.

My main reason for posting is to comment on the FPS. So after playing through fights, horse riding, and all sorts of stuff I find that my FPS is usually around 60 but will dip down to 30 at times. At 30 fps I really don't see a difference. Game runs smoothly and I only know it because i have a fps tracker running. It is very random when it decides to drop down to 30 though and I cannot explain it.

Im running the game @ 2K and all Ultra settings. Turning down some key graphics settings did not do anything to help the fps so I will leave all options at Ultra. I do not see a vsinc option (unless Im blind) and I wonder if it is built in and hidden? I'll have to look at that.

To turn off vsync, hit the tilde key "~" and type: r_vsync 0

Sweet thanks @erocker

As long as the game doesn't suffer from screen tearing I will run without vsync.

This is why I will never run a system without gsync or freesync ever again, regardless of how powerful your system becomes... some games just need it. :D

Doesn't seem to much need any of it. Surprisingly smooth.

Enhanced V-Sync or Adaptive/Fast V-Sync saves...

What is Enhanced V-Sync, I have never heard of it... link me please!

Running with vsync off doesn't really do anything. No tearing at all which is cool and I have seen the fps hit over 115 but for the most part it hovers either at 60 or 30 fps.

Normally that would bother me but at 30 fps the game plays fluidly. I mean its just great! Adjusting graphic settings doesn't make that big of a deal so i play at Ultra.

As far as saves go I have found this to be a non issue. I don't even need to use that mod for unlimited saves. You can literally go to any camp site and sleep on a mat for free. Or you can go to the place you live and sleep for free. Super easy.

I have finally gotten used to the combat and boy oh boy is it awesome. I fought two swordsmen last night...at the same time! I'd block one guys swing and then quickly block the other guys swing. Blocking and parrying is so cool. Fighting looks so realistic. I defeated both those guys the second try. First time I panicked and they overwhelmed me. Second time I was ready for it and killed them both. It was a great feeling.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to set up your keys properly so you can fight effectively.

Game is just awesome.

One bug found so far and that is one building has doors that don't let you through. It has not happened anywhere else but this one house. I ended up setting gravity to zero to get through but other than this it has been a pretty fantastic time!

Between WhiteNoise and W1zzard reviews I really really want this game haha.

this is the new witcherstalkyrim

might wanna plan some days off work.

Enhanced V-Sync is AMD's version of eliminating image tearing without causing framerate halving like with standard V-Sync. It's similar to Adaptive/Fast V-Sync on NVIDIA cards. These are all modes that you force in graphics card control panel and you keep V-Sync OFF in the game. Been using this stuff for ages and it's pretty cool. No image tearing and no sluggish mouse movement.

Thanks friend. I have used Fast Sync globally in nvidia control panel before, just didn't know AMD had a similar feature. This is fantastic, cheers!

Does it need a fast processor to game on. I am currently stuck with a laptop with a i7 7700hq running only at 3.4ghz max, the 1070 is fine but the cpu kinda sucks.

AMD has it around when RX Vega launched. So it's relatively new thing for them. NVIDIA had Fast V-Sync for a year or two longer, Adaptive V-Sync for even longer. But yeah, it's nice to see both having this feature now.

The Min. CPU requirement is a i5 2500K. That said your 7700 and the 2500K are pretty close to each other performance wise. So I would think yes; your 7700HQ should be fine. I believe your 7700HQ is slightly faster in most cases than the 2500K but that is just going off some online benchies.

Love the info guys! Anyone playing, please come add your good as well as bad experiences with the game. :)
