Okay I know I don't have enough info to get this answered that well but stuck at the hospital with my sister who's in labor so no way to get it but my issue is when I launch (company of heros 2, Skyrim,fallout 4,forest, eco, Ect) I get it to load the menu and everything fine it's after it loads to the screen where you can move or play that I get a GeForce kernel has stopped working and restored itself crash to the desktop I'm not sure what the issue is I hit min requirements on all the games at least and I'm able to play other games just fine(lotro, Minecraft,days,stronghold and banished just fine) I've check the heat levels all are good and the rest of my machine going off memory is 3.6 quad core amd processor 8 GB ram and windows 7 also have the most recent driver from Nvidia

Did you get the correct Windows 7 driver, is the first thing that comes to mind.

When in doubt, roll back and also link to the driver you downloaded. The games that do work are old but also lightweight, so there is no telling right now what exactly is the issue going on that alone (Skyrim is old too).

Troubleshooting order:
- Driver, clean install to the last one that worked well for you
- OS: make sure it is up to date and no hacks or odd Windows tweaks involved
- VC Redistributables. Check your .net framework installations. There is always a folder called 'redist' with most games. If there are .net installers, run them and Repair for each game that doesn't work. Both x86 and x64. Same for DirectX in the case of DX9 games and some DX11 games.

- Hardware: remove any kind of overclocks from the GPU. Run stock.
- If that doesn't work, lower the GPU and Memory clock by 10%. If that does work, you have reason to RMA the card / claim warranty

Do not, and I repeat: DO NOT: update the GPU BIOS.

Please, for the love of GOD, use punctuation.

Try an earlier Nvidia driver. Did you have the same issue, before updating to current one?

Isn't the GTX 1050 ti faked sometimes?

Where did you get this card? Could you run GPU-Z (available on this website) and post the result? Just investigating if we could be dealing with a fake card, which hopefully we aren't.

is there a way to check by chance lol

lol no longer have the packing for it so give me a sec to look lol
i know its a 700 watt

https://www.amazon.com/Apevia-ATX-BT700W-Supports-Crossfire-Haswell/dp/B01IFTQVPA this one lol

A quick glance looks ok.

Just ruling out the megabad stuff that can be possible. :) Unfortunately the next thing I'd check is if your PSU is good enough to power your system, but I imagine unless it is real garbage, a 1050 ti shouldn't push it over.

Do you know what it is? Model?
there

I did try something with regedit and delay 8 and it let me get into the game for about 2 min's otherwise it would do the error right after it finished loading on fallout last night but did the restore this morning since it didn't work.

VBIOS string gives it away
70 -> fermi
06 -> gf106

you can attempt to run a driver newer than 391.35 on the card; if it's fermi, it won't work.

Okay I'll try thanks for the heads up but where do you find the bios on that link you sent.

So is that the bios line in my link sorry still trying to learn stuff not trying to be complicated

Well its not 1050 Ti, for sure, 1050 Ti has 768 unified shaders and 32/48 rop/tmu and clocks are way higher.
Try to find a driver for gts 450, lets see if its working normal (look away the thing that it is not 1050Ti)

Your card is a fake. It's a GTS 450 1GB with its BIOS edited to claim it's a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. That's why games that try to access more than 1GB fail to work.

Give the card back to your friend and tell him to send it back to amazon for a refund. And also remind him that if the price looks too good to be true, that's because it is.

KK thanks everyone
Remind your friend the the Amazon "Marketplace" is just as bad as ebay when it comes to fakes but it is normally easier to get refunded from this fraud via Amazon... Sorry this happened to you!!! it really stinks! Also welcome to TPU.

Thanks so if I buy a brand new one (1060 ti I think) from Amazon prime would I still have the risk thinking tax time but the one he got still works better then what I had lol.
