Hello eveyone,

I have a Ryzen 5 1500X, 16GB DDR4 and a 480W 80+ Bronze PSU with one 6+2 pin PCI-E Connector.
I want to upgrade my GPU from GTX 1050 Ti to a GTX 1070.
will be my system a bottleneck for GTX 1070 by any mean?
is my PSU'power enough for 1070?

thanks for helping me:rolleyes:

Well, according to specification, 500w is recommended minimum for GTX 1070.
But in real, a good, quality 480W, which can deliver what it need, should be enough, in my opinion. Make sure your card is equipped with that connector you have. Some of it need 2 pcie con.
But some card can be picky, so it need that actual power level.
Do your psu have one rail, or split multiple ways? Is there only one 12V, or have more on the sticker on your psu?

It *should*, but your PSU is of a dual rail design with 20A per rail. 20A gives you 240 watts for the GPU and 1070's top out at ~200 watts. There's not much headroom there, so stay away from benchmarks designed to create a max load on your system.

thanks for replying:)

I want to buy a Zotac GTX 1070 Mini witch requires just 1x 8pin PCI-E Connector.

and about my PSU, this is the exact specification:

nop, I just want to Play modern games in high to ultra settings @ 900p or 1080p :(

I used to run my R5 2600 and RX Vega 56 off a 500W Bronze. was a single-rail though.

Great

I'm running an R9 270X (higher power consumption than the 1070) plus R3 1200 (same or very similar to the 1500X) on a 78% efficiency single rail 525W PSU.
I think you should be good.

While I don't like that PSU, its specifications are enough for your configuration.

It's a single rail with a split, there are no dual rail PSU units under 1000w.

There's plenty of headroom. A 1070 will never even get close to 200W.

I think if I was to build a new PC these days I would be aiming at a min of 600Watt just to cover any future upgrades

Based on the specs shown on the label for that PSU, you should be ok as long as you're not OCing. It's borderline though and you'r risking blowing out a few components. If it were me, I'd get a 750w to give your system plenty of power headroom and room to upgrade later.

It's ok but you can't oc your cpu and you can try to underclock 1070 a little bit so you will be on safe side and have more headroom for psu.

1. On the downside with the PSU being a "Green GP480A-EU Plus (480W 80+ Bronze) ", Im not enthused.

2. On the upside, Its a mini ... so will lose less power.

3. On the downside, that 197 watts is before the 20% increase ya get from MSI AB so figure 240 for a real car, again lot less for a mini

I think you will be OK if stay away from Oc'ing ... not so much concerned about the wattage as the quality
