How to get laptop graphics card to run compatible OpenCL or CUDA?

I'm unable to run DaVinci Resolve video editing software because it can only operate in either OpenCL or CUDA, and apparently my laptop does not have either configured or installed.

My laptop is a Dell M3800 from 2014. When I run the GPU-Z utility from www.techpowerup.com/gpuz it displays TWO Graphics cards in the dropdown.
1) Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 with Haswell GT2 GPU and OpenCL & DirectCompute 5.0 checked
2) NVIDIA Quadro K1100M with GK107 GPU with openCL and CUDA checked

I'm confused on why my laptop has 2 graphics cards showing up. Can I switch?
Is there a configuration change or driver update needed to get this software working?

my dell precision 6800 (quadro 3100) which is now running on the standard nvidia graphics drivers lets you prioritize in the nvidia control panel..

its more of a battery saver thing.. the quadro card does the 3D stuff and the integrated cpu drivers do everything else.. it uses less battery power..

i leave mine on auto

Well I'm on Windows 7 and when I click on the NVIDIA Control Panel, I get an alert that says "NVIDIA Display settings are not available - you are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU"

I tried updating the graphics driver downloaded from Dell but it said "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software"

What can I do?

That means you are using the integrated graphics chip, though it should work with OpenCL too.

i just downloaded the latest nvidia drivers from this site and ran them.. i expected a no when they ran the system check but they just went ahead and installed..

i am on windows 10 and think quadro drivers are now included in with the stock drivers..

does your card show up in device manager.. ??

Well maybe it wouldn't allow me to update drivers since I'm on Windows 7.

Yes, the "NVIDIA Quadro K1100M" does show up in device manager under Display Adaptors, and indicates everything working properly. Not sure where to go from here...

you can disable one of the devices in device manager..

but if the quadro card is showing up in device manager its working.. both mine show up..

windows 7 may be your problem its hard to say..

i would download the latest nvidia drivers from this site and run them.. they will ether install or not.. if they do your problem should be solved.. if they dont i think windows 7 is the problem..

ps.. nvidia has something called optimus.. it lets the machine use dedicated or integrated gpus depending what is best for the purpose.. integrated being the best for none 3D stuff it gives better battery run times..
