AMD Radeon RX 5700 Series Reference Models Revealed

Hope RX5700 XT hit 2150mhz with water cooler.

Wonder what sort of xtra cost that Dent have caused to card and box lols.

Might be there to mimic the old designs. A few old GPUs had transparent shrouds to aid guiding the air.

Didn't HC have an unboxing video 2 weeks ago, Then took it down

i guess it was cheaper to have that than the other. I know i will not buy one with that cooler.
Is a dual ball bearing delta blower fan and a vapor chamber cooler really cheaper though?
Given how many of the cheaper axial fan coolers are just a chunk of aluminium with grooves cut into them,
and cheap sleeve bearing fans that rattle after 2 years.

What ever the reason, i will not buy a card with that type of cooler on it, been their done that, No Thanks You. Well not all other coolers have sleeve bearing although evga seem to like the crap.

In fact it be nice if card reviewers actually checked the fans if they were ball or sleeve.

My fans on my XFX cards have been perfectly fine over the years ( except the 390X had it replaced a while back ). Although i had my 290X for 3 years without a single issue with them.

Only fans on video cards i have had go bad have been both eVGA with the sleeves, i am sure others are out their too.

AMD stated that it is the only way to guarantee thermals as they do not count on consumer always having good case ventilation.

yes, I asked myself why they still use the blower, and the answer was given a few days directly by amd: the blower directly expels heat outside and therefore is good even in "case" with poor internal ventilation, certainly this can negatively affect reviews.

That has always been the case and this the reason reference cards are historically with blowers. The solution AMD uses - with vapor chambers and everything - is not cheap and it is pretty much as good as you are going to get with a blower.

AMD doesn't want to be budget brand anymore, yet their solution looks budget as hell with premium prices, i wonder if chimps run their marketing.

I hope the rumors about Frank Azor are true, because they are in dire need of help in that department.

Actually, AMD reference cards are usually very well built, with robust power circuits and good quality PCBs.

For example:

Well maybe they need to try other options as i will never buy one with that type cooler as they are fair from better in the end. And if i were to spend such money on a v card again it would not be in the need of a 3rd party cooler from day one and making it much less attractive card to buy and may as well get a nVidia card.

So not impressed with the RX 5700 series. After all the build up over the past couple of years, I was hoping for a RTX 2080Ti equivalent. Not a sometimes yes ~ sometimes no RTX 2070 one.

A leak from the undergrowth says that these should be the prices:

RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary: $449
RX 5700 XT: $399
RX 5700: $349

Boom.

So that you guys can buy cheaper Nvidia card. Wheather AMD price those card $349 or $399 you guys will not buy those.

I'm not one of those who thinks so ;)

Thats a romour, just like $99 for R5 3600.

Personally don't think they be priced that low, but if they were actually nope 3-6 month for another cooler ( If lucky ) which would add $50+ it ends up being not really worth it.

So as much i like AMD just cannot and would not buy.

Oh, really?
Out of nowhere AMD rolls out 250mm^2 chips that consume less power and are faster than more expensive cards by nVidia.
So not impressive.

that's why AMD should keep prices as is (it already undercuts competition) and give heavy discounts for people buying all AMD bundles.

If they drop prices that will mean they still haven't learned anything. Great for consumers though.

I don't like look of 5700 XT.
5700 is OK. But anyway waterblock fix everything.

None of brands who build AMD probably didn't thought to offer bigger number of RX 5700 XT + Waterblock, pre installed by factory.
Significant number of people will be interested to buy watercooled Navi. Mini Poseidon example.
