Touchscreen laptop under $3500 for gaming?

Hey folks! I've done some research myself and found a couple laptops that I like, but I figure it can't hurt to ask on a forum for more recommendations.

Yes, I need a touchscreen. Yes, my budget is firm. Yes, I need a laptop/notebook instead of a desktop. Looking for something with a 15.6" or bigger screen, battery life doesn't matter, 1TB SSD preferred but 512GB works too. Any brand except HP. I don't need to get super high fps or settings, 60fps at medium-high settings works just fine for me. It also doesn't necessarily need to be a gaming brand laptop, just needs to have the hardware to run games.

I did a little research into my Steam library and wishlist so I can provide a rough idea of the specs I need. Minimum requirements are Core i5-2550k and GTX 1050. Recommended requirements are Core i5-8400 and GTX 1070. I rarely buy games so I'm not super concerned about being able to keep up with all the newest and greatest ones to come out in the next few years, I just need to know that it will run everything I currently have. My games include Stardew Valley, Minecraft, Assassin's Creed 4, House Flipper, Plague Inc, Species, Garden Paws, Jurassic World Evo, Orion: Prelude, and Borderlands 2.

The three I like so far are the Dell XPS 9570, ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX581, and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme.

Sorry my suggestions were wrong - i was looking at the most expensive laptop i could find rather than your requirement of a touchscreen.

I think part of the problem is youre looking for a casual gaming machine in the form of an ultrabook. These two things dont really gel. on top of that you want a touch screen.

I think the Zenbook is quite nice with the dual screen - theres more productivity but the X1 Extreme is also nice too. Depends what you want more.

Zenbook is great for the extra productivity. CPU is top notch but at the same time the laptop has quite a lot of drawbacks

The X1 Extreme generally fairs a lot better - there is a lot more to like about it then to dislike

the Dell is also a solid choice

It basically boils down to a coin flip between the lenovo and the dell. look at the reviews and ask yourself which one you like more.

No worries!

Yeah, it's definitely been tough finding what I'm looking for, but at least it's not impossible. Thanks so much for those links, the reviews are a lot more in-depth than I was finding and it's very helpful! I think I'm leaning towards the Dell at the moment, partially because I've had good experiences with Dell laptops, but still going to do some more research before I settle on one.

This seems like the best all around laptop that meets your specs and price. Whatever Razer's done with the cooling is impressive as the 2070 max q is beating a 2080 max q in a competing laptop. It also blows the doors off a 2060 in another competing laptop by almost 30%.

only issue is only the oled 15 inch version seems to be a touch screen.

Seems to be touch according to Razer website.

Dont forget you can custom spec the Dell. Get the cheapest configuration you can get away with as far as the storage and ram capacity is concerned, Then all you need to do is buy them from any retailer and install them yourself. you can save yourself a sizable chunk of money that way because its currently black friday and cyber monday is also coming up.

Timing is pretty good but you gotta move quick to make the best of it.

I double-checked the Razer website and it looks like both the Razer Blade 15 and the Razer Blade Pro 17 are available with the same 4K touch screen, though only with the 2080 Max-Q GPU. Are you aware of any issues inherent to either model that would push you towards choosing one over the other?

Just going by reviews both seem pretty awesome with a 4k screen I would probably lean towards the 17 inch version also with the 17 inch version being physically larger it should run a bit cooler.

if you can live without the touch screen the 2070 max q 240hz option would probably be a better overall gaming experience.

As far as issues go small and thin laptops with high end specs tend to get warm but this isn't just a razer issues the similar gigabyte and alienware laptops have the same issue.

I got to say until you made this post I didn't realize how hard it was to find a high end laptop with a touch screen.... The majority of the really good ones don't have one.
