READ BEFORE POSTING!! The Rules of this Forum

I just want to state it is odd we are no longer able to link to manufacturer pages for item specifications, price comparison, etc.

What drove that decision? Just curious and caught it reading the rules here as a recent change.

When did that happen? I do it all the time, it's very much a necessity when you take into account the need to help people understand their hardware more fully... Limiting that would be silly and introduce a PITN that doesn't need to exist...

To both of you, you do realize this is for the BST section right, not across all sections?

It appears those topics were added for a good reason. We do not change guidelines to create drama or issues.

Say I want to sell and H150i and I link to the site so that you can see exactly what I am selling (acceptable), it (I believe) refers to sales at those places being linked to in the BST rather than Hot Deals.

Yes.

I'm not asking to create drama sneaky, rather to avoid it.

So we can still link pages for specification reasons? If so I have no further questions, but maybe would suggest clarified wording.

but maybe would suggest clarified wording.

Read it in the context of the rule it applies to, how would you suggest it to be more clear?
"No links to auctions or other sites. (retailers, resellers, manufacturers, or eBay) "

FYI, the bit you are quoting as to being changed, from the history of that post, it appears we are discussing a change made in February of 2016 FYI. Just because it is blue does not mean it is new, it is done to draw attention, which it did, although a bit late ;)

I would just remove manufacturers.

Again, it is there as a reference to other sites for "Their Sales/Auctions/Discounts/what have you" of goods, not your own, hence the Hot Deals reference earlier.
Coming from our side, we have to be this specific, or someone will try to bypass things if they are not in text.

I understand that you have to be specific but how it reads is not what you intended. At least for us average dummies.

The key is you just haphazardly throw in 'other sites.'. If you read it straight up it says no links to any sites.

Ultimately, it seems only RTB has read it in 4 years so I don't think it is an issue.

It is exactly what we intended, it seems only a select few are seemingly taking it out of context.

I just had a reply I made to a thread in here deleted because it was against the rules... I'm not arguing here, but I sincerely don't know what rule I broke. Can the mod tell me why it was deleted? It wasn't important and already resolved, so I don't really care. Just honestly want to know what about it was incorrect so I don't do it again.

Only post in a B/S/T thread if you are...
1) Bumping the thread. (Once every 24 hours for sellers)
2) Interested in the item and asking a question only.

The BST is not a place for pleasantries and conversations.
Since it all fell through, I removed all of the banter pertaining to it.

I'm glad someone noticed I try to keep up on the rules.

My point was you know that can and will happen. But do as you will.

Aren't prices meant to be shown with or listed against an item when listed for sale?

Common sense says it will make the sale easier, but nowhere does it say it is mandatory to list an item.

Thanks, I did read the rules before asking but thought I may have missed it.

Trying to see if my heatware will show up now.

Nope. Not on that view, nor if I check your full profile.
Any idea what the refresh time of the heatware icon on the forum? I had my name capitalized on heat before, turned it into a small 'b' and I'm hoping that fixes it, because otherwise it all looks right on my end.

I don't recall exactly. It's not that long. Once they input that connection it's fairly soon.

Is there any manual setup I can try?

can somebody start to control some trigger happy mods on the TPU forum?

you simply can not comment completely normal stuff like "he sells a broken item and wants more money for it as the actual MSRP? silly."
comment deleted, next user comes in and says something similar, instantly deleted.
you say "take care what you write before your comment gets deleted" and you get completely banned from the thread. (the person before me too...)

meanwhile the staff writes basically the same what we said except that he is "allowed" to..

isn't it getting a bit out of hand?

If you want to discuss your direct matter or feel you were unfairly treated, then per the forum guidelines (link in sig), please take that to a PM with a super mod. I'll be more than happy to discuss this with you if you'd like.

Calling out moderation and inciting public drama is another aspect of the forum guidelines you should probably read before continuing with this kind of behavior. I'll also be happy to discuss this with you if you'd like.
