Hello

Recently i have a problem with my main system, this is a problem that i do not know how to fix.
My system's usb would (restart) or should i say turns off and on. I am not sure if this is the correct way to say it.
The whole system would still be powered on in windows and you can see the mouse stops for a second, the keyboard LED turns on for a second and turns back on.
This happens randomly it could be from anywhere within an hour to 4 hours. Only happens with each power on.

Things i have done
- Formatted Windows and reinstall
- Have the latest drivers for all my hardware
- Updated to the latest Bios
- No other overclocking is done except XMP profile on the ram

Has any1 has this problem? I hope its not a hardware issue because dealing with gigabyte i heard can be a nightmare.

Formatting and reinstalling should always be a last resort option. Besides the fact it often does not fix the problem, potential evidence or clues to the problem are often destroyed so nothing is learned to prevent recurrence.

Note the G403 mouse comes in a wired and a wireless version. Which do you have?

I am confused when you say,
happens randomly it could be from anywhere within an hour to 4 hours.
But then in the very next sentence you said,
Only happens with each power on.
It is not random if it "only" happens with "each" power on. Please clarify.

Have you tried different USB ports? Have you tried a different mouse and a different keyboard.

Wired version for G403

Okay sorry to confuse you. Here Goes
When i go turn on the computer and start playing games or general browing youtube/twitch shopping chatting on steam etc.
Within 1hour to 4 hours the (problem i.e usb restarts) it will occur. After the problem occurred i went and check device manager.
There is a usb port with ! indicator on it. So i restart the computer and the ! indicator in the device manager is gone.
So what i meant with each power on i meant restart and every time i turn on the computer.

I hope it clarify things a bit to you.

I am currently trying different usb ports now. No i have not tried with different keyboard/mouse, will do that next if the problem or so occurs.

Yeah, it does sound like it could be a hub on the motherboard. If updating or refreshing the drivers for that hub does not correct it (if not the USB devices themselves), then sorry, it is the motherboard. However, most motherboards have several USB hubs - depending on the number of USB ports. For example, the front USB ports typically run through different USB hubs than the rear ports. And the USB 2.0 ports typically use different hubs than the USB 3.0 ports. So switching to different pairs of hubs may resolve you problem.

You can try uninstalling that hub, doing a "cold" restart, then booting again. By "cold", I mean to shutdown normally, then unplug the computer from the wall for about 15 - 30 seconds. Then plug it back in and boot. New hardware will hopefully be recognized and Windows will hopefully reinstall the drivers which will hopefully fix the problem. And yes, "hopefully" was used a lot there.

Hi,
I'd open a ticket at gigabyte and see what they have to say, rma if necessary.
As said you can try a add on card to use internal usb connectors and see if they work better than the main usb connectors.
