OFFICIAL Cyberpunk 2077 Game Discussion

It is nice to see that after all these years GLaDOS is still trying to kill me.

WARNING:

After exiting the game to desktop Cyberpunk is still running in the background (or at least some part of it).

The game menu has a sound, something familiar with a car engine or a low bass sound with fluctuations.
After I closed the game I noticed that sound still playing in the background, as I opened Google Chrome. I closed all apps, the sound was still there. I turned up the speakers ot make sure, yes the Cyberpunk menu was playing on my desktop.

I wasn't able to find any services in task Manager related to Cyberpunk - for sure there must have been something, I just could not identify in the list. I restarted the PC and all was fine.
--------
Yesterday night I had the same thing. Exited the game but the sound was on headphones, not speakers. I switched the display to TV and started watching a movie. I noticed there was a strange sound coming from the movie, after a few minutes the PC restarted itself. Something must have been wrong. The Windows Event log shows
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

Just like last night, after exiting the game the graphics card fans reduce RPM. By the sound, this indicates the GPU load has reduced - as it should, considering the game is no longer rendering. Still, some part of it was running in the background.

This has happened twice to me, so be carefull.

^ this just happened to me as well.
I was playing a couple hours ago and closed the game out as normal when I was finished. Left the p.c running for a while and came back to it. When I launched game it said game it was already running ( i didn't notice audio in the background or anything like that) I checked task manager even though i knew it wasn't running and sure enough, nothing on task manager. just restarted p.c game launched fine. weird though.

Thanks. I don't see a setting for AA though, does it need a hex edit to disable it?
NVidia Control Panel. Disable it from outside the game. It's best to manage all of the major settings from the Control Panel. The fine-grained controls in game can then help you refine from there. Setting a profile for each game is easy.

You know what? I saw him and didn't even recognize him. That does explain is dialogue though - shoulda known just by that

I saw an easter egg so obvious it slapped me in the face with stupid when I finally caught it... Judy's emblem is a Ghost... in a Shell...

Looks like a Sperm in a "Clam" to me.

The ryzen fix gives me a good 30FPS more, on a 5800x. Also getting coil whine... yay

At least it's kawaii sperm. Cute. Reassuring. Like all of the soothing imagery permeating the game.

I'm finally doing the cars. These cars man. These cars are weird. That's all I'm gonna say. To those who know, I simply ask: what's with these cars?

From the GPU?

Yeah, as soon as i applied the patch my GPU usage went up. I need to check if i'm running a dual cable or seperate ones from the PSU later today

The way they handle like driving a boat around? I find it annoying with a keyboard and mouse.
Oh no, not cars in general. I'm talking about a certain group of them.

It's funny you mentioned that though. This game has sort of a BDSM thing going on with consoles. In a lot of ways, it is exceptionally console-friendly. I've been playing it with a controller and everything actually feels pretty good to me, including the driving. If I had any complaints, it's that it's not refined - very arcadey. But not difficult to control with analog sticks and triggers. No surprise, I guess. But no, it transfers over to shooting, too. The auto aim sucks but the movement and acceleration are good, and that's something a lot of games get wrong. And then you get to interacting and interface. A lot of that stuff is obviously mouse/kb, but they make a lot of concessions to make it good on controllers. You're never 'left-out' using one, ime thus far.

And yet... the thing is a performance behemoth. Just impossible to get around. All of the trouble to make it handle well on consoles, only to find out the consoles can't handle the performance demands.

Meh... muddying the waters more, this is one of those weird times when I can honestly say "There will probably be mods for that."

For those who want to mod (Nexus)

The car driving physics feels a lot like how it was in Mad Max. Very floaty and you can downright forget about drifting altogether. The brakes are very vague and I find myself overshooting my intended stopping point just because 75% of the pedal does nothing. I might need to look at the settings some more.

It's not BAD, but it's designed to appeal to the general audience and so it's not realistic by any stretch of the imagination. It's no BeamNG.drive.

Using the handbrake helps a lot with drifting around corners.

This is the first game in years that made me want to build a new PC so I am doing just that. Spent hours in Microcenter today (waiting my turn mostly). I hope to be done tonight so I can play.

As far as vehicles go, bikes all day. They're faster, they bob through everything better, and while they still aren't a BLAST to manuever, they're a lot more responsive.

Game now runs a bit better after resetting my PC. Still crashes a lot though. Just got two crashes in a row in the last five minutes.

Now hovering around 30-40FPS at medium to low settings with dynamic scaling.

Strange your having so much trouble with crashes. I haven’t ran into a CTD yet.

Not a crash here either. Maybe the game doesn't like your OC if you are OCing anything.

OK I'm entirely frustrated I can't find the damn case the mem shard is in in the BD I've looked and Looked and Looked and then I looked some bloody more help a poor gamer out somebody pm me where the hell it is I've found the champagne cooler the bar fridge and the aircon but I'm damned if I can find anything else in that damn room (I had to rage quit)

Got run over by Jackie on his motorcycle after the Maelstrom quest, so that's cool.
