Can i know which one's better between these two? I can only get the i7 10700f in my country for 310usd while the 5600x is out of stock. I can't find a comparison video anywhere because it's all 10700k vs 5600x. I know the 10700f has 8 cores but the 5600x has only 6 cores.

10700k and 10700f is almost identical, not even 5% difference in fps, only it dont have internal GPU whic u dont need anyways

You can check the reviews and comparisons here at TPU. The 10700 review also shows the huge performance increase with higher power limits, IF you really need it.
10700 is definitely worth it, especially with current prices.

Well the "i" 10700 is my favourite too if I look at those 8 cores and 16 threads but when I look at real power consumption we're talking up to 220W for intel and only 65W for AMD.
The Ryzen 5 5600X is a clear winner in this situation.

At this point I think I would just wait for rocket lake or go with the 5600X instead

Higher power limits? That can be done with the non k cpus?

oh...i dont think i have enough power supply for that and i just found out the prices of z490 motherboards are quite high too.

Yes indeed - you have to take into consideration: Intel is still stuck on 14nm, however advanced it's still 14nm and it'll heat up significantly. Their "TDP" numbers don't tell much regarding real power draw.
With AVX instructions being used, power consumption goes up above their humble TDP significantly.

What about the 3600 vs 5600x? I saw the comparison but i cant decide for myself lol. Im gaming at 1440p so cpu will play a smaller role. I can get the 3600 for about 230 usd while the 5600x will be estimated around 370usd.

Well the 5600X will age much better so it really comes down to what gpu you're going to go with.

3070 or weaker I'd probably go with the 3600... 3080 or stronger I'd prefer the 5600X

I have the tuf 3070. Why is it that with 3070 or weaker, i should go with the 3600?

Because depending on game you'd be looking at a 5% ish bottleneck which may be larger depending on game with something faster... my 9900k bottlenecks my 2080 ti in some MP games as an example.

You'll also get better 1% lows which imo are more important than averages.

Can you find a 5600x right now? I've been waiting a month or so and still nothing. Right now at this moment a tenseven would be better because you can actually buy one

5600X is Zen3 which came out this year. 10700 is Skylake from 2015 with just more cores.

ryzen 5 3600 is good too, nice 65W consumption, but slower cores (instructions per clock) around 70% of ryzen 5 5600X; if this is sufficient for you and price is also ~70% or less of 5 5600X price, then go ahead, you don't loose anything.

The 5600x will feel the same as the 3600 until you OC. The 3600 can do 4.3 to 4.4 max while the 5600x will easily do 4.7 . There is also the fact that the 5600x is 1 CCX while the 3600 is 2. For a real comparison look at the difference between the 3100x and 3300x. Even with 4.7 GHZ all cores the 5600x does not pull more than 65 watts (as per HWinfo64). For gaming the 5600x is great but you need to pair it with a proper GPU and panel.

not too much difference between them tbh - 10700f has the added bonus of an upgrade path in rocket lake (lol upgrade path on intel? hell does freeze over it seems)... 5600x is faster than the 10700f in ST, in multithreading they are about the same.

3600 is good too, although noticeably slower in games with a high end GPU than the 10700 or 5600. I wouldn't buy the 3600 - you will end up just upgrading to the 5xxx series and unless you're going to wait a year (probably not) you might as well take the extra money it would take to go from 3600->5600 and get a 5800x

They're both very competitive with each other ,get what you can if you need it now or research your personal applications and go with whatever is best for You.
