Ethereum Mining Farm with 78 RTX 3080 Graphics Cards Spotted

On one side I support crypto currencies and everything that takes the power away from the government (I don't mine). On the other reading things like this I want to bury those **** alive, feed the shark with them, hang, quarter, drown, send to the sun, and shot just to be sure.

It's 3 months now after release and no cards in sight for normal people, but mining scalpers buy planes load of cards (or steal them from factories) and nobody cares. I would love to get 3090 FE for work, but there is bloody nothing. 3080Ti will probably be realistically available in January 2023...:banghead:

2021 same as 2020 for computer electronics. Perhaps even worse with ominous trends developing in component pricing.

in capitalist systems the laws of supply and demand cant really be altered.. if there aint enough product the price goes up..

in socialist systems that attempt to alter the fundamental rules of supply and demand the product simply becomes unobtainable..

one has to assume that if miners are able to circumvent the normal retail supply chains and pay a higher price the manufacturers are part of this process else they would maybe boost supply to meet demand..

trog

ps.. for what its worth at current price levels one 3080 card will generate around $3 to $4 dollars per day when used for crypto mining.. this would be around $1200 dollars per year.. in my simple mind this makes one 3080 card worth around £1200 dollars.. this is less the cost of electricity of course..

the suggested retail price of around $750 dollars makes no sense at all.. most of us dont live in a socialist country which is why most of these so called $750 dollar items end up on ebay at a more realistic price of plus $1200 dollars.. its pretty nigh impossible to beat the laws of supply and demand they will kick in one way or another..

no reason to be mad at miners, they want cards as much as anyone else. But are willing to pay the premium others do not.
The problem with it is that they cause shortages for the rest of us. Them, and the scalpers.
Do you remember the BTC mining craze and the shortages of AMD's R9 290X cards?

What did you expect? We, "Gamers", are last in the chain for receiving anything in terms of hardware. Gamers are the last to get it.

Let me tell you how majority of Retailers empty their GPU inventory:
- Servers & Small Business (bulk quantity)
- Miner (bulk quantity)
- Gamers (1-2 GPU buyer)

Retailers who sold all their GPU in a day = got bigger Bonus from Manufacturers, so if they tell you they care about gamers who bought only 1 or 2 GPU at max is complete bullshit.

I tell you that because I maintain 1306 GPU mining farm, and I'm very okay with this news.

Before they list their inventory online, they called us, "We have a new GPU shipment if you're interested in bulk as usual." weeks before embargo release.

- 653 to 1306 more Gamers get 1-2 GPUs (not that they'd want second-hand with no warranty and mined GPUs anyway)
FTFY

how in the hell you can draw so much energy form a house?

Yeah, assuming 200W from a card, 1306 cards would pull 260kW from the grid.
Not going to be a house.

why so much veiled jealousy?

Personally i think good luck to them. people are only sore because of the cards they are using.

It's not veiled nor is it jealousy.
It's overt disgust.

Why disgust?

they have invested a lot of money, so what if they are using GPU's that are now not available to play CP2077 on. I don't see what the problem is. Is mining or building a rig to mine illegal?

Is it only disgusting because they have actually paid for the GPU's to build the rig. well TT boys, it was their money and they must have bought them through legitimate means, with legitimate money.

Personally i don't see what the problem is.
