6900xt degrades below stock speeds within 4 Weeks?

No way it degraded, something else happened. I suspect it's PSU related, 6900XT's power consumption spikes very hard.

Would be interesting to see if he has similar issues with a higher end PSU

He mentions testing it with two different PSUs and besides, isn't the 6000 series supposed to be "miles more efficient" than Ampere? :p

As some others mentioned, try another PSU, 1 KW.

i must have missed that in the reviews, damn!

okay thats a furmark only thing

This is a genuine fear of mine with a current-gen card, RMA but they have no stock to give you a replacement... yikes.
Fearing this with my 3070, hope it lasts.

When my Zotac 2070 died in December 2020 I went full on panic mode considering the GPU apocalypse. Was lucky to even find it.

Ok didn't see that. OP mentioned furmark at first but then said he didn't use it.
If he used furmark then that was the issue probably.

"Higher End"

a Dark Power Pro 12 and a Corsair AX1000..

i can run my 450W 3080 FTW3 Extreme with no issues and it's my PSUs fault that the card pulls around 100W in CS:GO and crashes within seconds.

Yup, whenever something is wrong with an AMD product (which is quite often considering all the threads on forums), there's always a legion of defenders suggesting (if not outright claiming) it's something (someone) else's fault; motherboard, bios, OC settings, ram, PSU...you name it. And while I certainly agree that all these things should be accounted for and ruled out, the deflectors often stubbornly stick with their claims, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Oh and regarding what to do - I honestly suggest RMA-ing the card then either handling its replacement like a spoiled baby (low clocks, low voltage) or selling it on while they are still going for good money and putting the earnings towards a 3090.

well i live in germany.
i simply go to amazon, click on return and get my money back after they recieved the card. (the card is already in a box waiting for DHL tomorrow)
meanwhile i checked the reviews for this card and there was another person that had the same issue as me.. it worked fine for a few days, started crashing and now it's not even able to display a youtube video.

i am done with AMD.

lol don't fall for the doom and gloom You could get duds from Nvidia too like the guys in this thread one of many btw, crashing 3090 after 3090 then you get nothing but black. Shit happens, sometimes you get a bad part, rma or refund. It's dumb to take it personally especially if you're getting egged on.

it happens unfortunately, a small defect or a bad solder point, that passed QA because it was working and then gives out, or a cap or the cooler not making proper contact.

It's just a tragedy when stock is this bad. Nvidia's 2080ti's had a solid % that baked their Vram chips to death at launch.

lol ya, remembering now the massive fail rate on the early ti cards.

That looks like VRAM failure which is more common than you might think. I've had both nVidia and AMD/ATi cards that have failed this way.

If the OP disassembled the GPU and didn't properly replace the VRAM thermal pads, they'll overheat and get roasted.

Here are (some) of my Cards :)

ALL of them are working 100% perfectly fine.

ALL of my AMD Hardware has some kind of issues except ONE single 5700XT and a 3800X.

i have a Ryzen 5 3600 on a B450 gaming plus Board that has massive problems with NVME Drives.
my 5700XT Nitro + SE stuttered and black screened so hard that i RMAd within 24 Hours.
my RMA Unit was a non SE and a 50€ Refund and it died after around 14 days of usage (VGA LED over night.. completely toast.)
my X570 Aorus Elite has massive problems with USB Ports.
my 5800X has non stop cache hierarchy errors.
my 5900X is not stable at stock speeds in P95 (spits out errors after 3-4 minutes)
my b550 Strix F has a dead SATA Port.
a RX 580 Armor that displayed nothing but some weird acid trip colors after 5 minutes of load.
and my second RX 580 8GB Pulse that still works fine (forgot to mention this card)

All of my Intel and Nvidia products are 100% functional.
two Z97, two Z370, one Z390, two Z490 and one Z590 board
4690, 4690k, 4770k, 4790,7700k,8600k, 8086k, 9600k, 9900k,10600k,10600KF,10700K,10850K and a 10900f
980 Ti, 660, 660 Ti, 760, 1050 Ti, two 1060s, two 1070s, two 1080 Tis, 1660ti, 2060, 2060 Super, 2070 Super, 2080 Super, 2080 Ti,two 3070s, two 3080s, a 3090.
even my old GeForce 4ti 4200 still works.

i always liked AMD for being the "Underdog" but since AMD sells it's products in a very very early pre alpha state and does ignore almost all issues that are out there... i can certainly say.. i am done with AMD.

I would certainly like to know which two PSUs, as a matter of fact most of the specific hardware and hardware combinations that was used to determine that the GPU degraded. I would like to add, maybe don't use daisy chained cables if you (OP) are doing so. That has been known to limit the maximum overclock, and possibly may fix your issue.

my X570 Aorus Elite has massive problems with USB Ports.
my b550 Strix F has a dead SATA Port.
From all of my experience, AMD Ryzen in general has problems, but in regards to those specific issues, AMD actually (finally) acknowledged there was a problem with the USB ports. Personally, I would take the more reliable system (Intel/NVIDIA in this case).

That is a nice hardware collection. You still have them?

i9 reaches 291w when pushed, plus 619w = OP is unrealistic.
One problem with the reply you quoted: That is power spikes, not average power consumption, as the chart you provided shows. There is a big difference with those, as the average power consumption of GPUs is not 600W (unless you are talking about the 3090 with 1000W vBIOS mod, shh not talking about that lol).

if that 980 Ti is still working, how much would they sell it to me for? :) Would gladly upgrade from my 980 to that. Yes it's dumb, but I still like maxwell cards, ultra reliable, no dummy issues, it just works.

not everything but most of it (Sold the 1080 Ti from Gigabyte, the 2080 Ti ended up in a custom loop and was sold to a friend later on, the 4790k is in a friends PC and the rest is at my parents house in my old room where i have my "stash".

it's a strix direct CU III and it's not for sale :)

I had this gut feeling this thread was created to shit on AMD, and then this happened^ ^
