Greetings,

I have purchased 40 nos Sapphire RX 570 8GB ITX cards for mining purpose, i have modded the bios and flashed on all cards after confirming that they have the same bios. However, after around 1 week I noticed that 2 cards are not mining and showing Unknown memory. Unfortunately i tried flashing back stock bios and other bios versions from Techpowerup database but unfortunately the issue is still there.

(Remaining 38 cards are mining for the last 6 months now with no issues at all)

I cant figure out whether it is software (bios) or hardware issue, and whether it can be fixed or no. I hope someone can shed some light and advise what can be done. below is "dmesg" from hiveos, i dont understand anything from it, but might be helpful.

Hello
Would you be so kind and make a picture of the stickers (labels) from the video cards and also to open them up and make a picture of the memory chips inside.
This way we will be able to feed you the exact BIOS for your cards.
Cheers

Thank you

we need a picture of the memory chips on the card itself. They are most likely going to be Hynix i assume.

The other 38 cards are all samsung memory as shown below. However, if it helps i will disassemble the card once i get home and get you a photo of the board

Yes i saw that from your picture.
But you can't bet that all of the video cards have Samsung chips.
It is possible that you can have Hynix or Micron.
So i need a picture from those 2 cards , open then and put a picture of those memory chips.
On the other hand i would love to have both labels from both of your cards.
In case you do not want to open them (yet) then i will provide you a BIOS for Samsung chips.
Your call

The ram must be physically be verified on the card

That doesnt matter, please rip the card apart

As for the other card i still did not disassemble, we could assume it is also the same, below is a photo for the s

thanks again for the support.

OK - so you do have Samsung Chips
Let me dig for the right BIOS

Please use the following file attached.
After you flash both cards please be so kind and inform us.
Good luck mate

Is there a verified bios for said card?

I have flashed the linked bios, apparently the number is bios number is similar to what i had, either way unfortunately the same issue persists.

Could it be a hardware issue? if yes, is there any way that we could pin point the issue using driver data?

Remove gpu drivers.

Get a gpu-z screenshot after you restart,

Better yet remove all cards but just 1, which is what you are dealing with now.

Device ID is :1002-67DF-1DA2-E343
Memory Chip is : Samsung K4G80325FC
The file i linked above is the perfect match to your video card.
So either you must test it in a totally new environment and clean install the video card, either you have a hardware failure.
My guess is that you will solve the problem if you test that video card in a new system, fresh main board BIOS, latest chipset drivers installed and fresh AMD drivers installed.

@eidairaman1 - there were no verified BIOS available.

Ye i agree, i also believe the bios is perfect and the issue is mainly hardware.

unfortunately, i have tested these in more than 5 different systems, including a system that is currently running the exact same card... in all tests the exact same issue is there.. unknown memory. I also tried more than 10 versions of AMD drivers.

Below are some notes that might help you help me :
1. GPU is not giving and video output, i am using integrated graphics to navigate
2. The GPU gets slightly warm when running (proof that it has some life left)
3. I tried installing drivers earlier(in windows), and it installed with no issues and GPU was also identified normally, but i cannot get a video output, nor does it show while mining in windows.

From my very poor knowledge in PCBs, i know that an electric short usually result in instability and sudden crashes, or completely dead VGA, which is usually fixable by replacing some fuses or common VGA parts.

but in my case, i am afraid it might be something like fried memory.

I am just guessing at this point as i have no idea what to think . And given how nice and stable the other 38 cards are, i am very surprised how these ended like this.

Let me ask you a question : You did manage to revive one of those 2 video cards?
And the other one is still dead ?
What if the card left does not have Samsung chips ?

No, both cards are dead.

just to avoid confusion, i sticked with one card till the end.

The other card i still did not disassemble, but i have previously tried more than 20 bioses, unfortunately getting the same result when it boots, and sometimes it refuses to boot at all.

At the end I reverted to the original bios.

just for your information, my friend also purchased some of these cards, they are also samsung memory, apparently the batch we purchased are all samsung. I might just open the other card tomorrow and confirm just to be 100% sure.

No need yet.
Let's go back to those 2 cards.
I will attach some more files here - maybe some of them are different from the one you already have.
All this in an attempt to make it work.

You are an angel , i was really sure it was a hardware issue, fortunately for me it was not.

Thanks to you the last two bios files you sent me both worked.

Make sure to keep volts low and cooling high on gpus if mining

Ye will definitely work on that. I still haven't tweaked the cards just added rough OC settings.

Also, I will reapply thermal paste for the card i disassembled as it is running 10C warmer than the other card.

Happy to serve.
Cheers
